The Democrats expect people to vote for them and they can't even run a caucus!
The GOP is at 85% in already

This is a hilarious comparison; a coronation Vs. 5-6 competitive campaigns and 50x the voters,  get out of here.

Can you imagine the GOP ads after this?
No need for ads, Iowa is going to be red after tonight.

This reminds me of ORCA of Romney 2012 campaign.

I was thinking about that too. Good observation.

LOL

CNN

A guy was on hold trying to report the result as Wolf Blitzer was talking to him. The guy got through and tried to answer the DNC person, but they hung up on him live on air.

Best moment of the caucus, so far

Trump the big winner here--tonight's fiasco, tomorrow's SOTU, and Wednesday's acquittal.

It already was before this. Trump could win Iowa by 15-20 now.

Pretty sure that Hillary Clinton developed this reporting app and sold it to the IA Dems.

I actually wouldn't be too surprised by that. She's infamous for her vindictiveness.

Every year the ESPN and ESPN Fantasy Sports app crashes on the first Sunday of the NFL season. They tweak the software each year and it gets overwhelmed at the first surge in traffic. It always take a few hours to start running again. It is the most predictable thing in the world.

Did they really think they could roll this out tonight and have no issues? Did they really not do a full scale practice run?

This is such a hot mess and one where overly-complex technology simply isn't needed.

Unlike, say, Maine - where IRV to redistribute individual voters' preferences is necessary - you don't need that here. People hoard themselves into easily countable groups and they get counted. Precinct captains/chairs should report results to county chairs, who can then report to the state: no tech-related bottlenecks. Or you know: just text or email the damn results directly to the state (on the other side of the "tech" issue, anybody who can't text or email doesn't need to be running anything in politics).

Trying to figure why Trump supporters think this mess is beneficial to Trump. By November no one will remember this.

In all honesty though if I were heavily invested in the result I'd be pretty upset about tonight. This must be like a basketball game where the officials are reviewing a play that will decide the game and they're taking forever. Get it right, of course, but timeliness is expected as well.

Also, for all the people saying "Democrats are wetting the bed over Russian hackers!" trying to do everything by app is probably the single worst way to expose your election to said hackers.

Well, when your "democracy" consists of "orange man wins, ignore anything to the contrary" its pretty easy to count votes now, isn't it?
