I really hope the Iowa Democratic Party app isn't having issues.

Reid Epstein, reporting from Johnston 4m ago

Final results from Johnston 2: Klobuchar 106, Sanders 83, Buttigieg 81, Warren 69. Warren picked up most Biden supporters after he was not viable.

Lisa Lerer, in New York 5m ago

Johnston 2 is a nice win for Klobuchar. Her staff has said she would be viable in some places. Winning an Obama-to-Trump area is a feather in her cap.

Johnston 2 is a rough result for Biden — his team hoped he would be the 2nd choice of Klobuchar backers. That he wouldn't even be viable is striking.

It looks like Biden is the one benefitting from realignment. Yuck.

Why the shock & italics? I thought that was expected

Only 28% 65 and over now! Biden could be finished.

I really hope the Iowa Democratic Party app isn't having issues.

The results so far indicate that they've got much bigger problems than their app.

I don't care if you guys think caucuses are cool. They're terrible for people who don't want to get screamed at by hundreds of different voices in a gymnasium. We are a forum full of people passionate about politics so we have no problem with voicing our support for a candidate in front of everyone else so we don't see a problem with the caucus system. But most Americans aren't like that.

Get rid of them.

SECOND ALIGNMENT - W103 BLACK HAWK - MY PRECINCT

WARREN - 27 (2 delegates)
BIDEN - 17 (2)
SANDERS - 43 (4)
YANG - 5 (0)

TOTAL AMOUNT FOR VIABILITY - 14

Sanders gain 0 in Realignment. Yang supporters went to no-one. Biden & Warren gain.

This could be the story of the night. Sanders may win the 1st vote but he probably won't win after realignment.

Then why laugh at me when I say Sanders won't win?

I really hope the Iowa Democratic Party app isn't having issues.

MSNBC said more than half the vote was in at this point in 2008 and Al Gore was declaring victory.  They're bombing it this year.

Abolish caucuses.

Caucuses are the dumbest thing in electoral politics. They are inefficient, much too long, and not practical for many working people.

TBH the Dems have more  or less done that. The only regions with caucuses in 2020 are territories and Wyoming (too small to justify primary expenses) and the first two Nevada and Iowa.

At this time, we had 30% of the 2012 GOP precincts & 40% of the 2016 GOP precincts

Grow up. You can sit in a corner quietly or in a back row somewhere, don't present this like its a verbal harassment circus. If you're with a candidate thats non-viable you can easily go home or quietly move to another supporters group. You dont have to partake in things you dont want to.

A bit weird for Al Gore to be declaring victory when he wasn't even running. I hope he quickly conceded to Obama.

Jeremy Peters, at a G.O.P. caucus in Cedar Rapids 1m ago

At a G.O.P. caucus site in Cedar Rapids, two people vote for Mitt Romney for president, eliciting groans from the overwhelmingly pro-Trump crowd.

The time comparisons to 2000 and 2008 are silly; obviously the caucuses will report much faster when there are only 2 serious candidates, because more precincts won’t need to conduct a realignment.

Lots of 17 year old suburban kids for Buttigieg.
What is sad is that you literally described me.
