http://www.boston.com/news/local/new_hampshire/articles/2006/01/27/legislators_reject_bill_to_reduce_drinking_age_for_military/

A Democratic state representative here in NH is sponsoring a bill to lower the drinking age to 18 for active members of the military.

"Rep. James Splaine, D-Portsmouth, a sponsor of the bill, says it's not fair to send 18-to-21-year-olds to war, but then deny them from drinking an alcoholic beverage"

Woud you support this bill?

No.  We cannot "favor" one group over another, even though they serve our nation.  Beyond that, you will drive the various cashiers nuts trying to verify if a military ID is legit.

How about raising the age to enlist from 18 to 21?

There are days where I think that could be a good idea.

The 'drinking age' should be eliminated entirely - there is no reason for the State to oppress its subjects in this way.

Not much of a difference between "drinking age and driving age identical" and "drinking age higher than driving age" in that respect, I would think. Now, move the drinking age to well below the driving age so that no novices to alcohol will be driving, and we`re talking a sensible position.

Anybody 18 years or older should be allowed to drink.
