Original Announcement Speech

I'm sure most of us have heard that Joe does not intend to seek re-election.  I am saddened by the President's decision, but it's ultimately his choice.  Therefore, I wish to thank him for his service to the nation, and, on a personal level, for the confidence he showed in me as selecting me to be Vice President upon Defarge's resignation.

That said, I've decided to run for President.

I will be compiling a platform in the coming days and week.  In particular, I wish to emphasize my goal of making the executive branch run as smoothly as possible.   As Vice President, I have worked closely with the PPT to ensure that the Senate has been been running efficiently; I hope to extend this sort of efficiency and ability to collaborate to the Presidency if elected.  More specifics on this will come in good time.  Additionally, I would pursue voting reform that would overhaul the current system of preferential voting and replace it with a FPTP w/ run-off form of voting for use in federal elections.

In the meantime, should anyone have questions, they are invited to ask them here.  I will also take this opportunity to wish all of my opponents good luck.

Thank you, and God bless Atlasia.

Endorsements:
President Joe Republic
Chief Justice TCash101
Former Vice President Defarge
Former Vice President Harry
Attorney General Brandon H
Former Southeast Lt. Governor Ian
Former Deputy Secretary of Forum Affairs Yates

As one of my closest friends and allies on the forum, I hope it's not a surprise to anyone that I endorse Ebowed for the presidency of Atlasia.  GOOD LUCK, EBOWED!

To paraphrase Harry Truman:

"If you vote for Ebowed, well then you oughta go to Hell".

Damn, I almost wish I were in this thing, just so that I could have the satisfaction of taking him on man-to-man.  Anyway, we all know who I am pulling for, but good luck, none-the-less.  Wink

Best of luck Ebowed. I'm glad you chose to run, even though I won't be voting for you.

Just when you think things are bad (Joe), they get worse (Ebowed).

I hope I don't need to remind the liberals around here that Ebowed staunchly opposes a woman's right to choose and considers that a major campaign issue.  Of course, like your votes for Emmy, I guess everything is about personality or popularity for you people.

This should go without saying, but you have my full support and my top preference.  I wish you the very best of luck, and if there is anything I can do to support the campaign, don't hesitate to ask.

An announcement shall be coming in a couple days. Smiley

Abortion is currently a regional issue, not a federal one.  The President does not have the power to do much regarding the abortion issue, save for the Senate passing a constitutional amendment that allows them to restrict the issue, in which case the President has the power to sign or veto whatever legislation the Senate passes on the matter.

Don, negativity is unneccessary in this thread that Ebowed made.  If you want to be negative, do it on your own thread.

Don never has anything constructive or positive to say, so his comments hardly come as a surprise.  I tend to just tune him out these days.  That seems to work.

Ebowed-Q sounds like some kind of medicine. Plus it makes me read your name as Porsee, when I'd always read it italianly before.
