Yes, but Warner isn't running, so Allen is pretty much guaranteed re-election.

Whatever I am - No.

And this bans civil unions, too?  Shame.

This law is a piece of trash.

So are most Virginians, Alcoun, so this will pass by a huge majority!

This really is embarrassing for my home state.  I would certainly vote no.

Good for you!

Say, by the way, how's it going down there in Brazil?  I may have to return to the Bad Place myself in a month or so. Sad

No offence, Opebo, but 95% of the population would consider you white trash, so I'm not sure I would be talking.

It would be going better if I was in Rio, but alas I'm stuck in nasty, overcrowded, SP.

Why are you going back to the U.S.(if you don't mind my asking)?

Ah, but they're trash, Alcoun!

No, seriously I don't like the term 'trash', as it usually referrs to one's class background, nor would I ever presume to judge anyone in that manner.  I was only making a political point - the vast majority of Virginians are hate-filled intolerants, so the gay-bashing proposal shoud pass with a big majority.

I'm about a month or so away from getting too low on funds to live the way I want to live..  I've already cut back to 1 or 2 a day instead of 2 or 3...

Nay, obviously.  I mean, if you don't want them to have a marriage, then at least let them have a civil union.  Myself, I think marriage should be up to the church, not the state.

Yes, and it really isn't fair because I'm not a thin anymore myself (5'10"/180)!  But I do like to make fun of americans for being fat.. it just seems to hit the nail on the head with the porkers.

No, I make fun of people for having a debilitating condition brought on by their stupidy.  If they were fat from eating fine French cuisine, great.  But they're fat from eating partially hydrogenated soybean oil and high fructose corn syrup, the poor ignorant saps!

No, Alcoun, I'm ridiculing, not 'complaining'.  They probably complain if they ever have to walk very far! Wink

Wrong, dumb:

Alcon, let us not be too hard on Opebo.  He has fallen on some hard times lately, and so he will need all our moral (and his parents' financial) support to pull him through.

In fact, he has even been reduced from pounding two or three hookers a day to only one or two -I mean, that is an outrage!  That is how desperate his situation has become.

Not to mention he's becoming middle-aged!  Oh, what a horrible life!  Almost as bad as being poor.

At least we have our youth, eh?

I know that was sarcasm, but I would completely agree. I really dread the thought of being over 30. Good thing I still have almost 8 years to go!

Some special interest groups should raise a lot of cash off this one, some incredibly wealthy TV evangelists too, and some folks should make some political gains. History shows that's usually the case when a hated minority is attacked for no particular good reason (other than to raise cash and make political gains). And hey, certain religious elements are leading the charge. What a surprise, an under standing of history never would have predicted that; well maybe not.
