The Electoral Commission logos for the elections have become very basic, in my view. The best one they made, IMO, was for the 2009 general elections.

It's probably just the vaguely Mexican colours, but it looks like a logo for a PRI campaign.

Are you talking about the CNE logo or the 2021 presidential logo at the end of the video? But, yes, the CNE logo looks like the PRI logo. Nonetheless, like I said above, my favourite logo is the one from 2009: https://www.eleicoes.mai.gov.pt/legislativas2009/index.html

The latter, but I guess you're right with the CNE logo as well.

Not very on topic, but I've just discovered this absolutely amazing animey poster of MDP/CDE, a socialist party that existed in the 70s.

On a related note, I found some really cool stuff about the Carnation Revolution and chaos of the 70s.

What are Liberal Initiative voters like? I noticed they're as high as 5% in polls. At a glance, the party seems like a typical European liberal party like FDP or D66, with liberal positions on social issues, but are their voters like that too? Or are they basically far-right like various "libertarians" in Spanish-speaking countries?

Any theories as to which parties are helped or hurt by a high turnout?

Well, we have had low and high turnout elections, and there isn't a clear pattern: we've had low turnout elections with PS and PSD victories, and high turnout elections with PS and PSD victories. Plus, there's few data on who's showing up to vote. If it's more younger voters, the rightwing parties will be benefited, but if there's also a high turnout on the elderly, the leftwing, and specially the PS, are the main benefited.

Are young voters more right-wing because of IL and Chega? I'm asking because PSD comes off as such a dull, charmless party that it would be strange to see it do well among young people.
