American democracy (1783-2020) murdered by the Trump cult known as the GOP
"All men are created equal" certainly applied to 19th Century America....

I really don’t get why you think Bernie and Liz having to stay in DC will effect the caucus. In particular Bernie has a massive ground game that can function fine without him

I respectfully disagree with that. Yes, they might have massive Ground Games. That being said: It's not a Primary, it's a Caucus, People want to hear from the Candidates and Rick Santorum said on CNN that if he would be in these shoes he would be furious. This really can make a Difference of winning and not winning.

No it isn’t and your insistence this is some conspiracy theory to hurt Bernie is with all due respect completely moronic

I don’t know who you are, but I f’ing love your concise points throughout this. I could have perhaps DM’d you, but hey public praise is good too!

Edit: Corrected diction.

From a purely political standpoint, this was a win for democrats. Republicans just defied the will of 75% of Americans. For reference, their healthcare bill(s) were at about 30% support.

Serious question: is there an equivalence to Double Jeopardy? Is Trump acquitted forever on this issue, or can the Dems reopen it?

Fox News must be watching because this was just mentioned  there is no double jeopardy in impeachment.

Ergo, expect Ukraine 2.0....

I don't know the technical Constitutional answer. But if a Democratic House wants to send more articles of impeachment in the future, it is not like there's a lack of untouched material. Mr. Trump's ongoing Emoluments violations alone could probably support multiple articles of impeachment. And in addition to the past, there's always whatever laws he'll be breaking tomorrow.

Agreed to 53-47

Closing arguments in the case will begin Monday at 11 a.m. and will last four hours. Senators will then have until Wednesday's vote to offer 10 minute speeches on the trial. On Wednesday at 4 PM, the Senate will vote on each Article individually. Senate adjourned for the weekend.

Most of America doesn't care and doesn't even know what impeachment is.

It's actually a pretty popular topic.

Impeachment is such a popular topic that the soap operas usually get 2x higher TV ratings than the trial when shown on the broadcast networks in the afternoon. It's such a popular topic that a Democratic focus group took 80 minutes to even mention the topic, and when they did they dismissed it as partisan nonsense.

Only hyper-partisans care about impeachment.

And only Republican dumbasses think this was a win for Trump.
