I have to say, its interesting...I think it pretty much disqualifies him from running for president again (just my personal opinion, it seems like he's a little too strong with his language, but eh, what the hell, he's got a lifetime job if he wants to keep it)...

is it possible he's trying to establish himself as the conscience of the Democratic Party?

You mean you think the content of the post itself disqualifies him for running for president or posting on DailyKOS at all disqualifies him?

The post itself seemed fairly innocuous to me - an obvious crititism most non-Bush supporters have of the man.

Oh no, it's clear that Kerry is running again in 2008.  He's making an attempt to reach out to the liberal base, so he'll post a few things on DailyKos to remain visible.  He's rehabbed his image nicely, although it won't be enough to go far in the primaries in 2008.

What kind of confirmation is there that it's actually him?

A handful of Senators and a bunch of congressmen have posted on Daily Kos before.

He's making it clear that Democrats get a spine 2 years after they fail to become President.

Lol

This is just an attempt to appeal to liberal activists for his bid for President in 2008.

So you are saying that everybody who voted for Kerry is a liberal activist?  That's a conservative line.

And the liberal activists probably scared off the additional 1.5 million votes that it would have taken, spread across the country, to bring him victory.

Sure, a negative campaign based upon mindless fear works, but Kerry still got several million more votes than anyone had ever gotten before.

Exactly

Pure speculation with zero evidence. They could have just as easily gained him an addition 1.5 million votes.

The swift boaters were a bunch of liars, and Kerry's military records prove it. Of course, Kerry being a dumbass, he releases those records after the election.

A couple million of those votes were "I hate W" votes and nowhere near "I like Kerry" votes.

Yeah, whatever happened to W's draft anyway?  You know, the draft that was sure to happen?  The draft that Kerry insinuated?  B/c that was the main reason people were wailing about Bush's re-election on another forum.

Saying that a draft might happen under Bush is nowhere as bad as saying "10 out of 10 terrorists support Kerry", when it's your damn adminstration that ignored a memo titled "Bin Laden determined to strike in US".

The draft that was originally introduced by Charlie Rangel (D-NY)?

Yes, that one.  The one that only D reps voted for. <scratched comment>
