The 2016 GOP field was extremely weak. Rubio collapsed when pressure was placed on him from Christie, Ted was way too punchable, Kasich and several others were just boring, and Trump was, well, Trump. And I'm saying this as a Trump supporter! The only person who might've actually done better than Trump was Rand Paul but he was never going to get much traction since the Libertarian wing of the GOP has had a hard time taking over thus far. It was only by chance that Trump won. Against anyone else, Hillary would've decimated them. Especially poor Jeb!
