Will Meretz join the Joint List like they were supposed to in 2015?
no. they will try to start a new Jewish-Arab partnership where they are the focal point.

I don't think they're going to form a government. The fourth election is really going to be wild.

At the same time that Handel attacks Netanyahu and Bibi's associates say he isn't looking for a unity deal.

It's almost as though...just throwing this out there...Gantz had no idea what he was doing.

This is quite something. If this was wartime Gantz should be in a military tribunal explaining his negligence. At the current state the best and only decent option for round 4 is prevent the bloc from gaining 61. with spirits low after Gantzgate, this is going to be hard.

If a fourth election does happen and the left has the seats to form a government, would Gantz still be PM, or would he be forced out in favour of somebody like Lapid?

That's a lot of ifs. I am not sure Gantz will even be able to stay in politics unless he somehow finds a way to get Hauser and Hendal to support a minority government.

Rivlin hasn’t extended the mandate. Gantz is kaput.

And Netanyahu will not receive the mandate, either. So a fourth elections looks very likely at this point.

Not sure, it now gives leverage to both to agree on a government, and Bibi doesn’t have the house committee

will be deleted like the rest as he hasn't been tasked with forming a government. and even then it would be ruled to be constitutional

His career is definitely over after this (I don’t buy those polls) and Labor is probably history too. They really dug themselves in a deep one with this mess.

At least Levy is finished and Hendel and Hauser are probably too unless another party takes them.

This next election is going to be the craziest of them all, especially in the shadow of Corona and the Haredi role in pandemic politics.

Especially with unemployment rates skyrocketing, and people not knowing how they’re gonna pay their rent or get food.

Jeez, what percentage of the Knesset is actually working for the people?

I'm going to guess this makes any annexation before the U.S. election unlikely, unless maybe Trump feels the need to shore up his evangelical support by then.

Is it f*** gonna happen, let’s be real. It was a cheap gimmick to try and steal New Right/Yamina voters.

I'll be generous and say about a half of the Joint List, possibly Merav Michaeli and Yair Golan, maaaybe Nitzan Horovitz, a couple Yesh Atid MKs, and Bennet has like 25% that actually cares about people.

The very obvious paradox of "Israeli democracy," the idea that an occupational ethno-state that operates explicitly in the interest of only one ethnic group often to the exclusion of an entire third of the country, really can't take a catastrophe like a fourth straight election. Especially when that election has only one objective, which is to free an acting prime minister from facing the consequences of his alleged crimes in court. It is a sign of profound dysfunction and not vitality that produces four straight elections because an entire ethnic group (Arabs) is deemed an unsuitable political partner because their narrative of Israeli political life happens to not be an ultra-nationalist one (which is ironic because Balad used to he exactly that--we are the new Jews now, the only real Zionists, the hope of Ben Gurion's Israel).

It's a failed state, and my optimism that another election will bring us out of the tomb is minimal.

If there is going to be another election, I’m blaming Handel/Hauser/Levy’s huge ego.

For what it's worth, Filber is out with a poll that shows Netanyahu's numbers plummeting with regards to his handling of the pandemic.

So if we are doing another election, would Yesh Atid run with what's left of Telem and Israeli Resilience or whatever Gantz wants to call it running with Labor? IIRC that's what people had been saying.

That'd probably lead Yesh Atid to be the single biggest opposition party.

And Yair Netanyahu should become the son of a former Prime Minister.

Negotiations now appear to be dead and Gantz is speaking to the country in a few minutes as his mandate expires. Elections are likely in late July.
