With the Red Sox leading the Mets 5-4 in the bottom of the 10th, with a 2-2 count and 2 out, Boston pitcher Bob Stanley picks off Knight at first (who had taken a large lead toward second), ending the game and giving Boston its first World Series win in 68 years.

No wild pitch, no ball between Buckner's legs.

With one less reason to "lash out", do MA voters still vote to dump the secondary seat belt law 10 days later? IRL, the law was voted down 46.5-53.5, with only Barnstable, Dukes, Hampden, Hampshire and Nantucket counties-- all well outside the Boston media market-- voting to retain the law. Boston proper voted it down, and Cambridge voted just 63% yes.
