I think there will be more women running in the GOP nomination race than men in 2024.

What is Michelle Bachmann up to these days anyway

Adam Kinzinger is starting a new organization called Country First:
https://www.country1st.com/

I wonder if he could be worth watching as a possible dark horse contender.

Someone needs to compile a list of all the failed Unity08 type bipartisan independent candidate efforts. Go join the Alliance Party if your really want a milquetoast centrist candidate, at least that one is built off existing organizations.

I've not heard of Sen. Joni Ernst, is she a rising star? It's always entertaining when obscure people that no one had even considered publicly declare their lack of running. Joe Sanberg 2020...

Apparently, Nikki Haley met with Francis Suarez, the mayor of Miami and is openly considering him for a running mate. He'd be a strange choice, but not a bad one, I suppose.
Interesting that she’d be looking for a running mate this far out

Everyone in this thread, I must ask if any of you think that Trump is a long-term thinker with strong impulse control. There you have it. Trump himself doesn't know whether or not he will run and I maintain he will not know earlier than summer 2023. Until then all of this wild speculation is for naught, just giving him more attention which is not bad in of itself but ultimately trivial.

I would rather take bets on when Trump will decide for certain and stick to it by 2024. Even if he was to declare his intentions tomorrow I would not give it any weight until, like I said, by summer 2023. That is what he did for 2016 and that is what he'll do again the next.

I expect him to tease it, but ultimately not run, he seems to love having the spotlight, but doesn't actually like doing much, becoming a GOP primary kingmaker would allow him to do just that.

The funny thing is, he's taking a long roundabout way to get to where he was roughly at a decade ago, when he was an up and rising GOP operative of sorts, hosting different events and trolling Obama about his birth certificate.

He'll be taken away of his kingmaker's status as soon as GOP gets a new nominee. How does he suppose to handle it? He's running (I hope).

Until there's a new movement or phenomenon figure, that new nominee will still be beholden to his blessing and influence.

It's kind of moot, unless Biden announces relatively soon that he isn't running for reelection.

It doesn't mean anything this early on but I always love to read about harebrained schemes cooked up by out of touch frustrated donors.

Impressive, though dang that just makes him look old. Previously I always thought he was Sean Spicer's age.

Just as some predicted Trump is already looking more rational than a lot of the new Republican leaders. The downward spiral continues.

There’s no need to predict. All one needs to do is to look at recent history. In the span of the Obama years you’ve got Sarah Palin, the Tea Party movement, Herman Cain, then Trump himself in the Birther movement. There will always be another demagogue. It is inevitable.

I've always thought of Cuban like Bloomberg, a billionaire blowhard who will never buckle down and actually run, but if Bloomberg can actually make for a play for it and then flame out spectacularly then let's see Mark Cuban's campaign.

CPAC starts on Thursday, the 24th.  Like last year, it’ll be held in Orlando.  Speakers are listed here:

https://cpac.conservative.org/speakers/

And include such potential 2024ers as Trump, DeSantis, Cruz, Rick Scott, Rubio, Pompeo, Noem, Gaetz, and Owens.

Don’t forget Tulsi Gabbard!

The media ought to ask him - as often as possible - "Since you have repeatedly said that the last election was stolen from you, how can you be sure that the next one won't be stolen from you as well? How can you possibly win 2024 if you still have massive numbers of enemies determined to make sure you won't win, and they can still distort the election results, just like you claim they did last time?" That question needs to be asked hundreds of times over the next two and a half years.

They should ask him that if the election was stolen from him in 2024 does he know he would be breaking the twenty-second amendment if he runs again.

The obsession with Hillary is very unhealthy. When does that ever stop?

The Democratic Party has an incumbent president who repeatedly stated his intention to run for reelection. It's a fantasy debate.

If we're gonna talk also-rans why not give Howard Dean a shot

Stewart's the wrong late night talk show host for 2024.

Colbert 2024, please.
Are you serious? Stewart is miles better of a candidate than Colbert.

Lol they’ve really learned nothing from 2016

Sure they have, they've learned to give us a good show! (Which probably started with the 2012 GOP primaries feat. Herman Cain)

2016 and 2020 was real clown cars for the GOP and Democratic primaries, respectively, but I'm pretty sure 2004, 2008, 2012 all had large rosters. I'm pretty sure that's just how every election is going to be from now on. It's just too lucrative to not run, whether for book sales or for future political capital.
