Buttigieg strikes me a plausible candidate for Harris' running mate in four years, contingent on him becoming UN Ambassador. As much as I like the guy, its hard to see a path forward for him barring a Biden appointment or pulling a Romney and running in another state.

Side note, why do people keep saying Buttigieg is going to be UN Ambassador? Wouldn't HUD be much more suited to his skillset? As far as I can tell, he doesn't have any foreign policy experience.

Plus it doesn't look very good to be RGA chair while also running for higher office. I suspect it's a similar reason to why Cortez-Masto took herself out of the running for VP.

There's no way Pompeo gets the nomination. He doesn't have the gravitas to win over Trumpists, but he's to Trump-y to win over moderates. He doesn't have a lane. He should have run for Senate last year.

1,384 days from now is exactly the date of the next presidential election, which is November 5, 2024.

Honest question: Who seriously wants Mike Pompeo to be President?

Adam Kinzinger is starting a new organization called Country First:

I wonder if he could be worth watching as a possible dark horse contender.

He has absolutely no chance in the primary or the general.

Maybe, but it’s not like he has anything to lose. And he’ll only have a chance - slim as it may be - to shift the Overton window back to his kind of politics by running.

I mean, he's fairly young and in a safe House district. Unless he gets screwed in redistricting, it'd be a way better career move to stay, rack up seniority in the House, and eventually chair a powerful committee. He'd have a lot more influence doing that than a suicidal presidential run.

Candace Owens tweeted this:

She'd bomb in the primaries. No way Republicans would let a vote for a black woman. Plus she's insane, so even if she somehow won the nomination, she would get completely blown out in the general.

Yeah, he's running. So that makes Owens vs. Gaetz so far.

So we have the possibility of four major candidates from Florida. Rubio, Scott, DeSantis, and Gaetz. If they all make it to the FL primary, it'll be a sh*tshow.

Apparently, Nikki Haley met with Francis Suarez, the mayor of Miami and is openly considering him for a running mate. He'd be a strange choice, but not a bad one, I suppose.

It is curious that Trump's former top advisor thinks he doesn't want a rematch against President Biden.  Perhaps because it is harder to run against Biden when he is the incumbent:

Trump Will 'Ultimately' Run in 2024 but Not Against Biden, Former Adviser Predicts

Donny is afraid of Uncle Joe. He beat him once, as the challenger already. Even Trump knows that.

That's why he is called Teflon Joe. Biden only knows how to win.

Except when it comes to actually implementing his agenda.

No serious Democrat would ever run against Biden. It's electoral suicide, they would stand no chance.

What a strange thing for him to do.
