Pres & VP candidate from the same state isn't likely to be a problem, you just have to win by more than half the state's votes. Granted it's more likely to be a problem if it's a big state like Florida. Worst case the VP has to drop out.

Yeah that's all but an announcement that he's running.

So apparently because of the search, many lawmakers are now urging Trump to run and to announce as soon as possible. E.g. Jim Banks (R-IN) said that was the tone at the dinner between Trump & Republican lawmakers last night.

For avoiding jail his best chance is to announce like, now, and hope it scares off Garland from indicting. But he probably thinks he's still invincible or something.

Biden in his press conference today, said several times he plans to run, he's planning to run, Jill & his plan is to run. He thinks he won't make the "judgement" though until early next year.

Biden asked how does the 2/3 rds of voters yesterday who don't want him to run affect his decision whether or not to run. He says it doesn't. Asked what's his message to them. "Watch me."

You can do it without a workaround, you just have to win the election by more than half that state's EVs. Anyway, it would need a Constitutional Amendment to change.

Ron DeSantis is on the verge of announcing his presidential bid
Expect to see paperwork filed in the next 15 days.

Quote
The clock is about to begin ticking down on Ron DeSantis’ presidential announcement.

On Monday, the Florida governor’s political operation is set to move into its new base of operations, which will trigger disclosure requirements with federal officials.

The DeSantis political operation is currently housed in downtown Tallahassee, but staffers are set to make a short move to a new downtown location that will serve as a more official campaign home, according to a source familiar with the campaign’s plans, as well as another person knowledgeable about the move.

That move will require the not-yet-filed campaign to spend more than $5,000 and, under Federal Election Commission guidelines, when someone running for federal office spends more than $5,000, they are required to register, file financial reports and designate a principal campaign committee.

Functionally, the office move will require DeSantis to file paperwork with federal election officials within 15 days, thus acknowledging publicly for the first time that he is running for president.

Literally Anybody Else announces.

A Texas man is running for president after changing his name to 'Literally Anybody Else'

Quote
A Texas man says he believes anybody else should be president instead of the current Democratic and GOP frontrunners.

And he's taking things into his own hands and running a long shot race to prove a point — by changing his name to "Literally Anybody Else."

"America should not be stuck choosing between the 'King of Debt' (his self-declaration) and an 81-year old. Literally Anybody Else isn't a person, it's a rally cry," read Else's campaign website, referencing former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden.

Else, 35, told Texan news outlet WFAA in an interview published on March 22 that his campaign wasn't about sending him to the White House.

The seventh-grade math teacher and US Army veteran said he wanted to give voters a chance to express their unhappiness with Trump's and Biden's candidacies.
