Yes, but it wasn't political. It was about TV or something.

My dad got push-polled once by the Gray Davis campaign.  That's as close as anyone in my family has ever come.

Yes, actually, fairly recently, maybe a few weeks ago. Company had just arrived, the phone rang, I thought it was the telemarketers, I was about to hang up (due to the pause between you saying "hello" and the other person saying something), and then I realized it was a poll about a split second before I hung up. I always wanted to be polled, so I took the poll and my company waited about 2 minutes!

I'm not completely certain, but I think it was a group called American Research a few weeks ago and they asked me if I planned to vote for Bush or Kerry. They also asked a small scattered number of other questions dealing with gun control, abortion, and taxes. Then there were a few general questions (like, for example, do I think environmental concerns should be a top issue and do I consider it a top issue, would I support more funding for more studies on the impacts of global warming, or something like that). They closed by asking if I had ever supported a past Presidential campaign and when was the last time I voted. I forget if they asked me whether or not I approved of Bush but I'm thinking they may have, as I was busy.

What if you want to avoid telemarketing but have pollsters get through? Take a chance, I guess. But I've noticed the do-not-call list has put a stop to the telemarketing.

I am on the do not call list as well. If I see a research organization is calling I usually take the call. When I lived in New Mexico I was on everyone's polling list. I must have been polled 6 or 7 times per election cycle.

Wow, that's a lot. A lot of times I'll get those and they'll be someone conducting a poll about what fast food and fast food restaurants I like. I'm not fond of those, I don't even eat fast food unless I have to, and they go on and on and on and last 10 minutes or more (what shade of golden brown comes closest to describing the color of the french fries you had at _____ six months ago? - I hate those polls). Those are WORSE than telemarketing.

Polling firms always asking the same guys is kinda self-defeating, don't you think? Affects sample accuracy, too.

I got a phone call from the Gore campaign on election day of 2000 begging me to go vote for Gore. I told them to go to h*ll because I had just voted for Bush. lol

I've been polled a twice times on non-political topics.

I've also been called a couple times while I was working for a polling firm, but was disqualified from answering because of my job...I never found out what the topics were.

If signing up for the Zogby on-line poll counts then yes! If it doesn't then no...

I never get polled ever. I also don't know anyone who has, this leads me to think UK opinion polls are made up. Judging by how spectacularly inaccurate they are it wouldn't surprise me!
