Mark Warner (I still say he should run for the Senate before he thinks about running for president)

Yeah, we have to make him more "electable" like Kerry.

In the context of 2004 - namely in comparison to Dean - Kerry was the more "electable" choice, he just ran a poor campaign... you can't in all seriousness compare Warner with Kerry!

I think he was referring to the fact that Senators don't tend to win presidential elections these days.

If by "integrity," you mean the crazies, then yes, yes he did.

That is humorous.

Hagel would be a formidable Democrat nominee.

Who said I had to only support one parties nominees?

For a few of us, it's the good of the republic, rather than 'win at all costs' that is foremost in our minds.

Then I nominate Zell Miller instead of Condoleezza Rice.

Sure, but you mentioned Chuck Hagel.

I'd like it to be known that I am against having Hillary as the nominee. (In 2004 I also opposed having Kerry as the nominee, and I was vindicated).

I'm not sure right now who my top candidate would be for the Democrats. I like McCain and Guiliani (and Hagel would be good too!) but they will of course become more conservative and take positions that I disagree as the primaries come into view late next year. I need some time to think about who I like on the Democratic side.

3: Russ Feingold

And if the Democrats nominated Kerry again, I would probably support McCain or Hagel for the GOP.

If the Democrats nominate Kerry again, someone's going to get a kick the shin.

If by "someone," you mean the Democratic party, that's absolutely right. Kerry would plunge the Democratic party into a hole 100x worse than the one they are in now. The Dems would lose every close election as well as the White House.

1. Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina (If he changes his mind)
2. Congressman Mike Pence of Indiana (Head of Republican Study Committee)
3. Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota
4. Senator George Allen

Top three are all dark horses. We need a strong fiscal conservative who is also pro-2nd Amendment and pro-life.

Democrats I'd like to face.

1. John Kerry - I could beat him. I though he was the weakest of the top tier in 2004.
2. Joe Biden - Run of the mill stereotypical senator
3. Hillary Clinton - Overrated. Reminds most guys of their ex-girlfriend/wife

Democrats I wouldn't like to face.
1. Mark Warner - He could neutralize NRA, run for "change"
2. Bill Richardson - He'd get gun owners vote and Bill Clinton backing
3. Brian Schweitzer - Western governor.

If somebody adopts Newt's platform and runs instead of him, I'd throw him/her on there as number one or two.

1. Warner
2. Bayh
3. That's probably about it, unless some darkhorse suddenly jumps in.  I'm thinking a Schweitzer kind of character, but he might even be my #1 in that case.

1. Hagel
2. Huckabee
3. Again, that's the extent of the list.  Some darkhorse like Jodi Rell, Olympia Snowe, or Susan Collins would be my #1.
