A few days old and most of you have probably read it, but worth a look

http://www.zogby.com/Soundbites/ReadClips.dbm?ID=12505

'Most high school seniors regard abortion as morally wrong and would severely limit a woman’s right to choose. According to a national poll released today in Washington by researchers at Hamilton College and Zogby International.

Most high school seniors regard abortion as morally wrong and would severely limit a woman’s right to choose. According to a national poll released today in Washington by researchers at Hamilton College and Zogby International, 70 percent of females in the class of 2006 say they would not consider abortion if they became pregnant while in high school.

Also, members of the high school class of 2006 are twice as likely as adults to support legal recognition of gay marriages. The poll on “hot button” political issues also found that support for strong handgun control measures is almost universal among high school seniors. Though liberal on gay and gun issues, this year’s high school graduates are conservative on issues surrounding abortion. '

My own particularly favourable results:

Three-quarters of this year’s high school seniors favor legal recognition of same-sex relationships, either as marriage or civil union.

Three in four seniors oppose a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.

63 percent support adoption by gay couples.

Nice.  They could have asked a more controversial gun question, though.

EDIT: Zogby.  Oh hell.

Well, it looks about the national average on abortion, maybe a bit below, but much more progress on gay marriage and adoption.

Not surprised on abortion...even a lot of the (few) liberals at my high school opposed abortion.  And some conservatives supported gay marriage.  So I'm really not surprised by any of it.

What a bunch of little fascists.

^^^

But Alcon has a point... Zogby isn't exactly a reputable poll.

Zogby may have done the 'labour' but were not necessarily involved in it's content or wording

From the Hamilton College page- 'The polls, developed and analyzed by Hamilton College students under the guidance of faculty members, are administered by the independent polling firm Zogby International.'

That means they used their crappy, crappy call list.

Most of these students oppose abortion because it is the people of their generation who have suffered because of abortion.

You gotta love Zogby's wording though "severly limit a woman's right to choose". Wish they would finish the sentence. Choose what? Gotta love the bias.

No results by state?

What's the point. Sad

Although I'm surprised to see such high support for gun control in the West! I would have thought we would have at least been lower than the Northeast.

Honestly, try and get a little bit of gun control in Washington State. It isn't easy!

These little fascists would stop opposing abortion the minute they had an inconvenient pregnancy.  I suppose the infestation of christianity is to blame for their present intolerance.

Umm... I bet at least some of them have a little something called 'individual responsibility' down that'll prevent such a hypocrisy.

This jives with a lot of the polling and studies that are out there.  I think one study called it "Conservative but inclusive", referring to a general upswing in support in socially conservative values but also tolerance and acceptance of people's personal lives.

The gun thing really worries me.  I guess if your org has an N, R, or A in its name (NRA and NARAL)  its doing a bad job of promoting its issue to future voters.
