I’m referring to Albion’s Seed. It seems there were slaveowners descended from the Scotch-Irish, and the Cavaliers and Scotch-Irish both seem to have had “Southern” aspects to their culture.

they both arrived in the south after the 1600s in the fallout of the English Civil War so that's no surprise
