A council has elected a new provost after a sheriff rejected a legal bid to block the move.
The leader of South Ayrshire Council's Labour group, Douglas Campbell, had tried to stop the unseating of the Labour provost and his deputy.
But his bid was turned down after legal argument at Ayr Sheriff Court.
The Tories took control of the council following the resignation of the Labour council leader in November. Councillor Winifred Sloan is the new provost.
The Conservatives have 15 councillors to Labour's 14.'
Enjoy it while it lasts, reform of the electoral system means it is highly unlikely any party will gain a majority on any council and we will see coalition deals all round!
