"The year is only three days old, but already the political season is heating up in Virginia. WTOP Radio has learned Harris Miller will challenge Republican incumbent George Allen in November.

Miller, an activist in Fairfax County, will formally announce his candidacy next week. He describes himself as "a shorter, and poorer version of (Governor) Mark Warner."

The 54-year-old McLean resident is currently the President of the Information Technology Association of America. He wants to see more done by the Federal government."

At least Allen has a challenger!

Like you said at least Allen has a challenger, but  he'll still get at least 65% of the vote.

I hope James Webb runs, but it seems that Miller has the "establishment" backing of Warner and other powerful Democrats.

I still don't think Allen will get more than 58%.  He'll be elected, but I'd say 54-58% (less than what Warner would have been re-elected with provided he could've).

I live in Fairfax County and I haven't really heard of this guy.  He better get his image together and spread it across the state quickly if he actually wants a chance of beating Allen.

I see the Democrats have found their sacrificial lamb, and not even one with widespread name recognition throughout the state -this is the first time I have ever heard of him.
