Whats with some of the western counties currently with Beshear leading, isnt this the big gop rural area?

Not especially more Republican than the rest of rural Kentucky, at least these days. Some of those counties have colleges or other Democratic centers, too.

Even if Bevin still wins, those swings in Kenton, Campbell and Boone should be setting off alarm bells for the GOP.

If someone like Biden or Buttigieg is the nominee, we could see rural counties looking a bit like tonight.  If it's Harris, Warren, or Bernie, not so much.

It will get very close, but I think Bevin will crawl through. Also MS is coming in very soon.

I think it's all going to come down to Louisville, but at this point I'd ever so slightly rather be Beshear than Bevin.

Given that Beshear is winning Elliott handily and is carrying a number of other Eastern Kentucky rural counties, Rowan County should vote for him as well. Haven't seen any results from it yet though.

Most traditionally GOP big area is the South Central.  West has some traditionally D areas.

Lol, yes rural Kentucky is very open minded towards homosexuality!

Buttigieg would underperform Clinton in rural areas.

It's the Republican incumbent in a safe R district.  He missed the deadline to file his paperwork to get on the ballot.

Is that the district where the Republican had no choice but to run as a write-in?

I live in Campbell, and frankly, people are sick of the Republicans making it look like a banana republic.
