Hello Atlas forums - I apologize in advance if this is not allowed or if I'm stepping out of bounds here, didn't see anything anywhere that said otherwise.

I am the Head Administrator of a small interactive geofiction government simulation called the Republic of Alduria: https://www.alduria.cc

We are starting up our second general election right now, the rules and election calendar are in the following link if you are curious: https://www.alduria.cc/forum/showthread.php?tid=336&pid=1607#pid1607

I'm writing to see if anyone would be interested in joining Alduria and participating in the elections. You'd need to select a political party, craft a character, and join the campaign.

I don't want to make this too long or whatever, but we have a wiki, a forum, and a Discord server.

Feel free to join our Discord server and ask more questions there if you are interested! You can do the same in our forum.

I'm also looking for someone to eventually become an administrator and run the game with me!

Come join us! I suggest signing up on the forum and joining the Discord server to start off. That way you'll be welcomed and integrated quickly. Smiley

I’ll try to come back to this thread and provide little blurbs and updates about Alduria, even for those who don’t want to play but like to still hear about something different every now and then!

Quick general update on Alduria for everyone as of Nov 18 2019:

• Our elections just ended, here are the results of the general election:
 o Parliamentary: https://www.alduria.cc/forum/showthread.php?tid=362
 o Presidential, 1st Round: https://www.alduria.cc/forum/showthread.php?tid=363
 o Presidential, 2nd Round: https://www.alduria.cc/forum/showthread.php?tid=368

Synopsis of election: the election was a great victory for the ruling party, the Liberty and Democracy Party, which has captured the Presidency for the first time in the first presidential race in Alduria’s history without an incumbent. They are the largest political party in the Aldurian Parliament, with 100 seats in the 252-seat legislature. The incoming President is likely to appoint a coalition government between the grand center-right and classical liberal tent Liberty and Democracy Party and the center-left Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, the second largest party in Parliament. That will leave the resurgent populist right party, the Aldurian National Alliance as the Official Opposition.
o For more details about Alduria: Check out our wiki, we are constantly adding and updating. I’m in the middle of moving a lot of the important Guides and FAQ’s to the wiki for easy updating – new information is added almost every day.

We could use more players – right now the center-left party the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) is the second largest party and it has an NPC managed by the administrator as leader, not to mention needing party members. The Aldurian National Alliance and the Liberty and Democracy Party also need more members. There are limited spots to play independents. We are currently not entertaining the creation of new political parties, although as the player base grows, we can contemplate that.

I can use help running the game – I hope to hire some sort of administrative or moderative help at some point in the future. This person would be key in running the simulation, keep things fun, creating regular news content and new political scenarios for players to respond to, being a neutral and respected figure to arbitrate and pacify any in-game conflicts, and aiding in polishing, updating, and developing materials like the Guide to Alduria and others to help integrate new folks into Alduria faster.

Feel free to PM me on the forum or reach out on Discord if you have any more questions.

Aldurian update!

POLITICS
The Liberty and Democracy Party and the renamed Democratic Socialist Party have entered into a coalition to form the government.

  • This makes Alfonso Velez (LDP) Prime Minister for a second term, partnered with Marco Zimmer (DSP) as Deputy Prime Minister.
  • This makes the populist Trumpian-like party, the Aldurian National Alliance, the Official Opposition in Parliament.

Parliament is about to open and people can create a character and [/iurl]sign in as an MP from one of the parties.

There are limited spots for a few independents as well - this is a historically underused affiliation and could result in some fun if someone wants to play the right character for it.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Alduria has traditionally maintained an armed neutrality policy in a world that is increasingly torn between two major foreign policy blocks: the Raspur Pact (RP) and the Union of States around the Sovereign Oceans (known as the USSO).

Alduria has important trade relationships and key friendships with nations on both pacts. However, Aldurians are generally very pro-Raspur Pact, given the large amount of Alexandrians in the country. (Alexandria, a nation that no longer exists, was a founding member of the Raspur Pact.)

A war has exploded in the continent of Benacia, between Raspur Pact countries (in particular among them, Ransenar and Natopia - who #2 and #1 respectively as the largest trade partners that Alduria has) and a group of nations aligned with another pact of nations called the Batavian Confederation. This war has attracted attention from a USSO member Krasnocoria - a nation that is Alduria's 4th largest trade partner.

This has put Alduria in a bit of a weird position internationally, which has resulted in the possibility of Aldurian shipping and trade being seriously disrupted.

The incoming Velez II government is currently attending to this problem via diplomatic means.

-------------------

We could totally use more people to join any of the main parties - there's some openings for people to carve out a more personality-based political brand as an independent as well if done right. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or are interested in joining!
