Bush/Cheney 484
Kennedy/Rangel 54

Kennedy picks Rangel to help him in the key battleground of New York.

Bush would not win that big. Teddy is actually liked by half of the country.

Hehe

But really, Bush is more moderate, and would come across as more moderate.  Bush would win 57-42% or so.  Nader a non-factor.

Kennedy couldn't beat Carter, he'd get stomped.

Not sure who I'd vote for though.

Under no circumstances Bush would take R.I or CT

The map doesn't have Bush taking RI, but I agree with CT.

oops my mistake yeah your right.  RI is so small its hard to tell.  Anyway with the disaster the GOP is going through right now in CT with the whole Rowland scandal you could put a bunch of crayons on the Dem ticket & the Dems would still win

What are the single Electoral College votes in Nebraska and Maine all about?

Nebraska and Maine have decided that whoever wins the total popular vote in that state gets the two electoral votes that derive from the states senators, and the winner of each congressional district gets the electoral votes that derive from that district's congressman.  So, by winning, say, Maine, youe don't necessarily get all 4 EC votes.

Ahh right, I see. Thanks!  It seems like a very sensible idea, if it weren't for gerrymandering.

Imagine in California allocated their EV's like that.  Scary.

If every state had given 2 for its popular vote and the rest per congressional district, would the result have been different? Surely Gore would have taken some districts round Dallas, Houston, Miami, Cleveland etc?

We did something about what would have happened in the EV's were allocatyed by CD.  Plus, Bush won 9 more states, so he would get an 18 EV bonus...

Right, yeah. Just found that and it increases Bush's majority. Sad  Best shelve that plan for the moment then!
