A Time for Dragons, an ASOIAF game Sign-Up

The Year is 128 AC; Viserys Targaryen, the First of his name and may long he reign, is waning. Surrounding him for years are the kindling of ambitions and soon-to-be betrayals, which he remains blind to, speaking to his goodness but also to his weakness. Rhaenyra Targaryen is his rightful heir by all the laws of men, but some argue the laws of gods award the Iron Throne only to her brother Aegon.  Regardless of the outcome of the coming years, none will say these years were not some of the most difficult the kingdom had faced before or since.

I will allow sign ups for characters not on the list AFTER we have filled the roster of enough major players. Rhaenyra and Alicent/Aegon or people in their faction are necessary. We'll see what interest looks like and then start approving people for characters after some bids are made. Viserys is not necessary but I think making it an option helps for some variability in outcome, even if he is not expected to live for a large amount of time.

So that's 5, once we get around 8 or so we can kick it off.

I'm gonna allow a fair amount of player control over their characters and their motivations, as much of what happens in the Dance is murky in that aspect. Some things will be too far out of character, like Alicent declaring for the Blacks, or Rhaenyra surrendering without a fight, but I think it'll be more fun and dynamic this way.

And that's a go. 'Crises' are limited considering the relative peace in the land, so much so I wouldn't call them crises. Let your ambitions go unbridled and start giving me something to work with

I don't plan on letting this information go for purposes of intrigue in any but the sparest of ways, a few times at most this game, but it also helps me keep track of things. Keep in mind I will follow orders to the letter unless otherwise specified.

I don't really have a problem with it aside from the character never being named or really having any traits for us to build from; I think the King's Landing/Dragonstone rule should be the par for the course, but let me do some more research tonight. Need to figure out if Lyonel Tyrell was born by 126
