It's such an overused phrase that it's easy to miss how creepy it sounds.

The phrase is annoying, but the people themselves were (mostly) freedom fighters.

The fact that the phrase is overused is definitely annoying but I don't believe that said annoyance reflects negatively on the phrase itself.

As for the Founders themselves, yeah, (mostly) FF's.

Horrible phrase.

The people were mostly good (for their time at least), although it's annoying how they're often used to support status-quo and/or simply bad positions.

It's a bit weird when someone invokes the Founding Fathers to justify their opinion, since that group contains a large amount of people with varying opinions and philosophies.

Annoying phrase in that it's often used improperly to refer to the Framers, who were largely a different group from the actual Founding Fathers and had very different political views and priorities.

Agreed.

Though I'd say as a group they were good.

Thomas Paine was a massive FF. The rest don't deserve the acronym but they were better than the British Empire they defeated. No opinion on the phrase.
