CNN now says it's the entire squad except Pressley.

Again, this hurts Warren more than a lot of people will realize.

You've said that but havent explained why?

Not really, endorsements aren't that big of a deal anymore.

This clearly defines Warren as the HRC of this race. Younger AOC/Squad supporters who haven't been following all of this yet are going to come out for Bernie. He'll, at least, see a boost in polling.

Yeah, this is a big deal. This opens up a huge gulf between Sanders and Warren, at a time when the latter is running to the center.

Why does the squad prefer sanders over warren?

Well for one thing, Bernie is to Warren's left, and they also need the optics of endorsing a Jewish man so the media doesn't try to Corbyn them when they take a bigger role in the party.

If true, this is a blow for Warren but probably one she can withstand. I have doubts whether it's a good move on the part of AOC and the others, when Warren is more likely to be the nominee.

I don't believe they're thinking about it like that, weirdly enough.

I imagine they just genuinely support him and realize he could use the help right now.

I'm sure they will eventually support Warren over Biden if Sanders gets knocked out of the race later on.

Sure, right when the vote was consolidating around Warren, let’s give the guy in third place a boost so Biden can make his way back into the lead.

And even so, if Warren gets Pressley - she's arguably the least popular member of the Squad. Her possible endorsement of Warren is overshadowed now.

Not when Biden's already in the race, don't be silly.

He already took back the lead by himself.

Unrelated but I have to say that Bernie not attacking Liz in the debate - but rolling out these 3 endorsements right after Liz has a fairly questionable debate is a genius political move.

I think there's something to be said for AOC and Ilhan being cultural icons and pulling in vaguely political but inattentive voters to Sanders. Warren still has some strong appeal in this demographic but it's a win for Sanders among the type of voter he's going for (young, urban, not especially engaged in politics).

at a time when the latter is running to the center.

Its certainly a helpful endorsement, but I have my doubts that it has a significant impact.

It's Tlaib. AOC/Omar have a lot of defenders. Tlaib doesn't have the same fanbase or populist appeal, she just has pure nastiness.

Pressley is the least-known, but she probably has the highest district approval rating of the four.

Anyway, candidate with authoritarian-left leanings gets endorsed by three politicians with authoritarian-left leanings.

Imo, if Pressley's the only member of the Squad to not endorse Bernie, then it more-or-less feels like a given that she'll end up endorsing Warren.

Nah, even without as many defenders, you just don't see nearly as much Tlaib-related vitriol as you do for Omar.

LOLOL at calling pro-choice, drug legalizing, anti-capital punishment, pro-LGBT rights, anti-surveillance, anti-prison industrial complex candidates that are by far the most anti-war in the democratic caucus "authoritarian."

The right certainly loses their sh*t more over Omar/AOC, but I think mainstream democrats see value in them as fundraising tools and savvy social media talents. I think Tlaib is the one her own party would most like to be rid of - and they're likely to get their wish given the district's demographics.
