The income cross tabs are interesting:

<50k:
Sanders 26%
Warren 25%
Biden 20%

50k-100k:
Warren 29%
Biden 26%
Sanders 15%

>100k:
Warren 39%
Biden 28%
Sanders 4%

Why are high-income voters so opposed to Bernie but so supportive of Warren?

Also for the first time ever, Biden is not first in the RCP average. Warren now leads him 26.6 to 26.4.

And just to think that 6 months ago Warren was placing a solid 5th.

Congrats to Warren, this poll now puts her in the lead when it comes to polling averages. She's got the lead, now she needs to keep it.

What's the change from the previous poll? Either way, very encouraging, but I'd like to see some statewide polls in line with this before getting too excited.

Why are high-income voters so opposed to Bernie but so supportive of Warren?
He's crotchety and not personable.

Warren is able to express her interest in making sure everyone pays their fair share without alienation and demonization.

There were a lot of high-income, progressive Hillary 2016 supporters who just don't want him because he reminds them of the vitriol from the last race.

Because people in that income group are predominantly white and college educated, Warren's base. And Sanders has been much more hostile to this group in his rhetoric than Warren has.

Every pollster except Fox and Rassy has had Warren winning, Warren will win the primary.

High income voters (and high education voters) are the only ones paying attention at this point.

It is often said that politics is a game for rich people, and poor people don't have time to pay attention to politics. This is overstated to some degree by election day, but it's definitely true that predominantly rich people are paying attention months and months out ahead of an election. This is also why big swings can happen right before an election: because that's when middle and especially low-income voters start paying attention and may change what were previously default positions. Because middle- and low-income voters are paying a lot less attention than wealthy voters, wealthy voters are more likely to be "leading indicators" and to key into "trendy" candidates. If the trends continue, they literally trickle down to lower income voters as lower income voters start paying attention, although often trendy candidates rise and fall without lower income voters ever paying much attention to them (witness the 2012 Republican primaries, in particular, although this year has had some evidence of the same with the surges and declines of Buttigieg and Harris as well as Warren surging now with wealthy voters first).

i think this is the poll that officially makes Warren my candidate, seems like she's gaining slowly but surely and will need as much help as she can get.

Hmm, doesn't seem like the health scare impacted Bernie's numbers at all. So that's good at least.

High income voters (and high education voters) are the only ones paying attention at this point.

Is that why Bernie is leading among individual donations and total donation count? Because high income, college educated voters (in this poll, White, college educated voters give Sanders only 6% support and those making over $100,000 only give 4% support) are the only ones paying attention?

Desperately bad news for America. An election between Trump and Warren would be disgusting.
