Would you rather live in New Jersey, a state with high taxes, yes, but access to New York City and Philadelphia and beaches in the summer; or Florida, a state with no income tax and warm weather year round?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'd rather live in Syria than Florida.

Easy decision for Florida.

Florida has Miami, St Petersburg, the Keys, and the best beaches in the country.

New Jersey has....Patterson?

Some very nice bits of Miami>Hudson County>rest of Dade County>rest of North Jersey>rest of South Florida>South Jersey>rest of Florida.

So Jersey on balance.

New Jersey has Somerville, and the affluent suburbs.

Plus the Pine Barrens.

New Jersey has a better climate and is by New York City; Florida is much more scenic. New Jersey on the whole, but I'm not enthusiastic about either.

Plus, the climate in NJ is better

My answer should be beyond obvious. And I am very pleased with the results here so far.

Hopefully this settles the comparison between these two states once and for all.

FL. warm weather, no snow, Miami, Disney, Fishing, Cuban food, low taxes, nicer people, doesn’t smell like a sewer, no NYC traffic, warm water, storm chasing, Florida Man, Harry Potter World, cheap sports tickets, better beaches

Easy Florida vote ... I enjoy the Florida memes as much as anyone (seriously, what is wrong with the people in that state?!  Lol), but living in warm weather all year and especially being in the Keys (admittedly maybe a few years down the road in my life, as I might get a little stir crazy at this juncture) beats the hell out of New Jersey.

As biased as I am in favor of my home state, I do think you can make a case for any of these based on your own subjectivity, even as I may disagree. Except the one I bolded here, that is. I never understand this criticism of states' or regions' residents. People are people, there is a vast spectrum of them everywhere and they aren't inherently nicer or meaner just because of where they live. I hate when people say this and it always seems to be directed towards southern state denizens being "nicer." Find me an objective way to measure this and then maybe I'll concede my frustration.

Also you clearly have never been to Hudson County. They have tons of authentic, quality Cuban food there.

Jersey has taken over Florida. The second season of Jersey Shore was shot in Miami.
