Praise the lord. I'm so happy to hear this news. Women who aren't capable of providing food, shelter and love to a child will not be forced to be bad parents. Women desperate for abortions will not risk extremely dangerous non-professional methods. Women will make decisions about their bodies. The government will allow citizens the freedom of choice regarding having children. Republicans will get triggered and freak out. Just all around, this is very good news and a beautiful example of American values.

They opened up a new clinic in Illinois for the residents in Missouri? Good. At least the women in Missouri needing abortions won't have to drive so far just to get one.

Fun bonus fact: the state is represented by one of thirteen stars on the Confederate flag.

And with a court order in Kansas protecting legal abortions, KC is secure too. I just wish they had a way to help people travel from Springfield or Columbia and would imagine there would be “activists” kidnapping people so they couldn’t make it.

Praise the lord Satan. I'm so happy to hear this news. Women who aren't capable of providing food, shelter and love to a child will not be forced to be bad parents. commit a heinous act rather than just put their child up for adoption. Women desperate for abortions will not risk extremely dangerous non-professional methods. Women will make very poor decisions about their bodies. The government will allow citizens the freedom of choice murder regarding having children. Republicans Democrats will get triggered and freak out their precious base turnout. Just all around, this is very good bad news and a beautiful example of American values politics at its worst.

Another sad example of America's shoddy healthcare system. Imagine your healthcare options being different based on the state you live in and your gender. What a complete farce.

You know, there are plenty of people who would be happy to adopt the children you’re referring. It’s probably a far better solution than sending them to death before they have even been able to breath, and that would probably be more in line with American (and human) values.

Stupendous news! Hopefully they continue this expansion in other blue states that border red states cracking down on abortion.

For an organization that purportedly only has abortion as 3% of its services, it sure seems like Planned Parenthood loves opening abortion clinics.

And If nobody doesn't, the child will have to be in Foster care, which is horrible and filled with abusers and assh*les.

Children under a year old make up less than 7% of those in foster care, and are typically the first to find permanent placement. The majority of kids that spend a longer time in foster care are those that are older and are involuntarily taken from their parents, and even in those cases many of them find permanent placement with a biological family member. Many times they're harder to place because there is typically a lot more paperwork and typical red tape processes, and usually several court hearings standing in the way of them finding a home faster. The chances of a newborn spending it's entire life in foster care is extremely small.

Your point also does nothing to prove that abortions are a good thing, all it does is point out that the foster care system needs a significant overhaul, something that can be done without killing babies, and something that most pro-lifers have no issues with.

Safe, legal, and rare has always been a lie.
They have been rarer and rarer in number in the US since 1990 (1,429,000 abortions)...down 55% (638,000) and the rate is down just under half... (188/1000 live births compared to a record 364/1000 in 1984.  The rate is the lowest in the post Roe era.)

This is because the availability and prevalence of birth control and other contraceptives, which many conservatives oppose as well, has reduced unwanted pregnancies dramatically.

And if you think the US is bad...the former USSR had way more abortions than births for most of its post ww2 history.

Also there is a great irony in the fact that the two years with the highest rate of abortions per live birth... were 1984 and 1980.  The two years that the generation that was having abortions unlike any generation before or since...installed  and reinstalled pro-life St. Reagan.

In fact the rate of abortions has risen much faster or fallen much more slowly during GOP presidencies... (obviously this is not a serious point)

Nixon— abortion becomes legal nationally
Ford— +50%
Carter— +37%
Reagan— +7%
HW Bush— -4.5%
Clinton— -23%
W Bush— -8%
Obama— -17%

The problem is that foster care, much like police departments, face no national oversight or accountability. It’s far easier for one federal government to oversee such a system instead of fifty states all having to do it perfectly.

We have a nation of aging childless baby boomers...we should put them to work...now the foster kids have a crabby assed great uncle to listen to as he barks and yells and yammers at something on the TV called an Ant Sea and a Pillow Sea.

The Church of Abortion Worship. The "Lord" whom you pay allegiance to is Molech, God of Child Sacrifice. Members of this church consider abortion to be the "holy sacrament", a "blessed thing" which all should praise, and all should embrace. Women who obtain abortions are "one with the Lord" and will obtain admittance to the pearly gates of Heaven. Women who oppose abortion will be cast into the flaming pit of Hell, and be damned for all eternity.

LOL, you're delusional. There is a vast and sprawling chasm that seperates "abortion is GREAT and should be encouraged" apart from "women should ultimately make this EXTREMELY difficult personal moral decision for themselves without government interference".

Those two positions are not close AT ALL and never will be, despite evangelival brainwashing and thousands of dollars worth of propaganda being shoved down our throats daily that say that those two positions are one and the same.

Where are they? If people were lining up to adopt, there wouldn't be demand for IVF or for importing babies from China, Eastern Europe and subsaharan Africa.

Planned Parenthood provides free HIV testing which is something that rapidly declining towns with drug issues need. If a person contracts HIV or any other STD then they can seek treatment as well as prevent spreading it.
