He is aware of that. He is also 1. not completely aware of how trends work 2. basically a Catho-Trumpist when it comes to American politics.

Sadly the skip means we missed the arrogant Red Wave™ predictions in 2022.

Here's another shortlist:
- that Trump actually has a prayer of winning the general election 2024
- that Ohio might actually still elect a Democrat in today's age
- that Alaska is inflexibly Republican at the presidential level

and more topically:
- that a democracy that jails its past flagbearers for criminal activity will tear itself apart (Brazil has now proven it can come back from it)
- that Twitter was ever TBTF
