Now it has been 234 years since the signing of the Constitution.

It's also been 50 years since Justice Hugo Black, the last great Supreme Court Justice, resigned.

I doubt he's read the damn thing.  He probably knows as much about the Constitution as he knows about the Bible... and yet both times he ran for President, he received the votes of the most so-called "Biblical" Americans and the most so-called "Constitutional" Americans

For having been written in 1787 it's very good. It's the weird aversion to ever revising it that Americans have developed just in the past fifty years or so that's the problem.

It's not so much an aversion to change itself as it is difficult to find something that both major parties agree needs changing. It's been over 80 years (75th Congress) since it was possible to get an amendment through Congress without some support from the minority party, and that doesn't even consider whether getting it ratified by three-quarters the States would be feasible.

what would even be the point? the president in reality has had less power than queen elizabeth since fdr died and the civil service took over

you'd have better results explaining it to judges/top bureaucrats

Happy Constitution Day, once again! It has been 235 years since the document was signed by Washington, Madison, Franklin, Hamilton, and so many others.

Too bad Apartheid was written into the Constitution and that's why we have Electoral Vote instead of Direct election of Prez that's why we need as many Ds as possible so we can Directly elect the Prez
