1. West Coast (WA & OR are the best states)

2. Midwest
3. Northeast
4. Interior West (would be higher without AZ & NV)

5. South (MS & AL are the worst states)

2. Midwest
3. South
4. Interior West
5. West Coast

Of course, there is much variance within regions. California is obviously much better than the rest of the West Coast, and Delaware is obviously pretty terrible compared to the rest of the Northeast. Florida is literally worse than literal hell. And Texas is even worse.

1. West Coast
2. North East
3. South
4. Midwest
5. Interior West

There is massive variation though as Texas, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina , Tennessee are all great states but Alabama , Oklahoma , Mississippi are the 3 of the 4 worst states in the country by far .  If you take those 4 states out the South is better than the North East

Same with Colorado which is an amazing state to live in but the rest of the Mountain West with the exception of Arizona would be bad places to live in

1. Northeast
2. South (Would be higher if not for Florida)
3. West Coast (Ruined by SoCal...which is everything south of Hayward in my book, also the crappiest accents in the country)
4. Midwest (The Great Plains and IN/OH ruin it)
5. Interior West (Worst weather in the country and none of the greenery to justify any of it)

Interesting. Considering your love of big cities anf hatred for rural areas, I'm kind of surprised to see the Interior West at the top.

Yeah, my fiancee has given me an appreciation for at least rural areas in the mountain west, plus I Purple heart deserts anyway. But big cities still slap. No better place than Atlanta or Los Angeles.

Good, I often feel alone on that opinion. Tongue

I've lived in two regions and have visited one other region. Having never been to the West, I can't say for sure how it ranks, so I can only guess based on my (limited) understanding of it.

1. Midwest
2. Interior West
3. Northeast
4. West Coast
5. South

Not sure I'd divide up regions like on this map, though.

What would you change?  These seem to be easily the most obvious cutoffs...

I like warm weather and I love the west. So, either light blue or green.
I might like Hawaii but I've never been there.
I climbed a mountain in WY in 1977 and lived in CO until 1960 and haven't been back since, but I have also been to AZ, UT, & NM. So, although I might prefer Hawaii to all the others, since I haven't been there I vote green states.
