What is your opinion on Jason Chaffetz, a former congressman and Fox News contributor, who converted to Mormonism just to get elected to office in Utah?

Total loser. Remember when we was on CNN crying about the Access Hollywood tape, and said he was no longer supporting Trump because he wouldn't be able to look his wife and daughter in the eye if they did, and then nobody else followed suit, so the next week he was back on the Trump Train?

His bio is a hoot and a half.

Chaffetz's Dad was Kitty Dukakis's first husband.

Chaffetz's Mom was a Christian Science member who converted to Mormonism.  His Dad was Jewish and Chaffetz's upbringing was Jewish to a point.  He was a Democrat to 1990, and he's a BYU grad who married his college sweetie, so politics may not have been his original motive to become a Mormon.  (One of my best friends is Jewish who married Catholic girl whose family are serious Catholics, but he's told me that he's really something of an atheist and just goes along, so I don't put it past Chaffetz to be a non-believer at heart.). He's the ultimate "go along to get along" type, so his posture on Trump is hardly surprising.

I didn't know this until just now.  It's easy to see how a guy like this can have no deeply held principles.

Jason Chaffetz is a glorious freedom fighter. It is unfortunate that he is no longer in Congress.

Also, I believe that if he were insincere about Mormonism, and did it solely to become a Representative in Utah, he would have been much more liberal in Congress, and he would have converted away from Mormonism after leaving Congress.
