I think if Bush was popular during his second term than it might have been very possible for Jeb to run in 08 and he would most likely have been the nominee as he not McCain wins SC and FL . if the economy doesn’t crash it’s very possible he could pull out a narrow win over Hillary (Obama wouldn’t be the nominee if Bush was popular).

I doubt it. I think the Bushes would find a way to narrowly throw 2008 to the Democrats to set Jeb! up for 2012.

Having  one Bush run to succeed another wouldn't be practical and it would just look bad, and I think the Bushes would be smart enough to know that.

Before the primaries started, I thought Jen Bush would have moped the floor with all the other Republicans running; especially, I thought he would have destroyed Donald Trump. My political radar has never been as off as it was then.
