Okay, I knew a lot of leftists were going to put Bush down, but why you? I find it amazing that any conservative would rank Bush worse than Wilson!

Notice how almost every blue avatar has FDR on their list? Apparently 25% unemployment doesn't matter to them. What is wrong with you people? Franklin Roosevelt is the Best President ever. Lyndon Johnson is second best.

1. George W. Bush- Not once has he EVER reached out to Democrats, not once in 5 years. Its like we don't exist at all to him.

2. Ronald Reagan- I never thought I'd hate someone more than Reagan

3. Warren G. Harding

4. Herbert Hoover

5. Unsure: Could be Taft or Cleveland or Pierce

Who are the five worst presidents in United States history?

From worst to fifth worst:
1. Franklin Roosevelt
2. Woodrow Wilson
3. Abraham Lincoln
4. Lyndon Johnson
5. Herbert Hoover

Change the order of Wilson and Lincoln.  Change Hoover to Nixon, and we have my list.

I like your list, thefactor, though don't you think you should replace Hoover with Carter? Tongue Smiley Cheesy  [See, it's fun busting on your man marbles.]

BTW man, there's a book out about Jimmy Carter calling him our worst ex-president.  While I strongly dislike Carter, I thought the book went a little overboard in some of its criticisms of him.

What exactly is the reasoning behind placing Clinton in the top 5 worst?  It really makes little sense; none of his actions cause anything to collapse.  The lone real criticism of him from the right seems to be that he let the Islamists prep for 9-11 in the '90s while ignoring the threat, and at best that's just an accusation.

There are so many who are obviously worse than him.

I agree that there were many worse in terms of policy.  I think there were probably only a few, if any, that were worse in terms of character, and in terms of placing the public interest over his own private interest.

BTW, I did not list Clinton as one of the worst.

Character is more of a judgement call than anything else.  It's hard to judge as we really don't know these people.

But off the top of my head I think Harding, Kennedy, and Nixon had worse 'character' than Clinton, and if I had to I could name some more I suppose.

Or those of us who understand he was a far-left socialist. He even wrote a book defending Wilson!

I did say "almost every" blue avatar. I do notice now that you and Jake don't have FDR on your list.

Anyhow I guess I shouldn't complain, my list is very partisan although I intended to include some Democrats. Wilson and Jackson were racists but with Carter, if that rescue plane had succeeded in Iran he'd would have been a hero, cruel fate.

It was actually a book that covered his ordeal, it was more of a biography. I actually read it.

He also wrote The Challenge to Liberty, and anti-0New Deal book which most anti-New Dealers based their opinions off of. Every time you read an anti-New deal article, it most likely was based off of Hoover's book.

Just try to respond to that Phillip.

Some people find his record as president more telling.

And, no, you're wrong. The New Deal was being critiqued right and left throughout the 1930s, in newspaper editorials, and everything else.

That's true, and I would say most anti-New dealers read Hoover's book, The Challenge to Liberty, which was Hoover's best selling book.

Ever heard of Garet Garrett?

I don't think Hoover understood economics very well. This is a guy who tried to keep wages artifically high to improve the economy.
