For anyone that has been tracking these polls, this is the first time since July that Santorum has an approval rating higher than his disapproval rating - 47% - 43%

Conrad Burns is back in negativeland (no bad band reference intended).

The MT Democratic party is currently running a major ad blitz criticizing Burns' relationship with Abramoff.  Things are only going to get worse for him.

With Warner out, Allen is safe no matter what.  The Rasmussen polls had him up huge, the Democrat will just be a token one and we should focus our efforts on PA, OH, NJ, MD, MO etc.

So, uh, I'm getting the sense that the people of Maine like their senators.

Well, "when Strom Thurmond ran for president in 1948, they voted for him." Answer your question? I think Lott may be getting some sympathy support since he lost his home in Katrina.

What's wrong with Frank Lautenburg?  He has the lowest approval rating.

That one surprised me, too.  Kyl has always been considered extremely safe (not that a 7-point approval isn't decent), but he's never had stellar approval ratings, and this is even more truer this release than in the previous.

Yes, with this jump in approval, he might be back to being 10 or 15 points behind!

We'll see.

Stuff like this ebbs and flows, so bragging about one poll isn't the greatest of ideas.

If you compare the results from the October poll to the December poll you will notice a large majority of senators improved their numbers.  Call it the 'Christmas Bounce'.  For the most part people are feeling good about the Christmas season.  Everyone is spending money and spending time with their loved ones.  But just wait untill reality sets back in and those credit card bills roll in w/ double minimum payments. People are going to wake the F up real quick.

Well he's also made up about six points in one month in the head to head matchup so that's good news, too.
