2020 Republican National Convention

August 10, 2020 : During a rally in Tampa, Florida, President Donald Trump announces that he selects Florida Senator Marco Rubio (one of his former rivals in the 2016 Republican primaries) as his running mate, thus marking a first in American politics since he would become the first Hispanic Vice-President if Trump wins re-election. Trump’s choice has increased his appeal among establishment Republicans.

August 24-27, 2020 :  The Republicans hold the 2020 Republican National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina where President Trump accepts his party’s renomination for President of the United States and where Senator Rubio accepts his party’s nomination for Vice-President of the United States. The Republicans spent the 4 days of the Convention to praise President Trump’s accomplishments, including the strong progress of the building of his promised wall at the southern border of the country, strong economic growth thanks to the Trump tax cuts and small government, the abolition of the War on Coal and the promotion of clean coal, the elimination of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, the democratization of Venezuela, the denuclearization of North Korea, Trump’s efforts to get the world to a denuclearized Iran and the creation of the U.S. Space Force. They also seized the occasion to slam Elizabeth Warren on her record, on her big government agenda that would increase taxes on the people and on businesses and kill jobs and on her weak foreign policy agenda that would reduce defense spending and make America an easier target for radical Islamic terrorists. The major speakers at the 2020 Republican National Convention were President Trump, Senator Rubio, Connecticut Governor Bob Stefanowski, Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Michigan Senator John James (Keynote Speaker), Nebraska Governor Pete Rickets, North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis, Iowa Senator Joni Ernst, First Lady Melania Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse, Colorado Senator Cory Gardner and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

General Election 2020

September 6, 2020  : Tulsi Gabbard announces that she’s running a third-party candidacy and that she selects Tim Canova as her running mate, who is none other than Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s challenger in FL-23 in the 2018 midterms in order to demonstrate hard-core progressives' dissatisfaction towards the establishment since DWS has been accused of pro-establishment bias during her time as DNC Chair by contacting with Clinton's 2016 campaign in order to derail Bernie Sanders. This third-party bid by Gabbard is very likely to hurt Elizabeth Warren’s chances by splitting the liberal/progressive vote.

September 29, 2020 : President Trump and Senator Warren face each other at the first 2020 presidential election debate in Dayton, Ohio. The debate is focused on economic issues and is moderated by George Stephanopoulos. While Warren criticizes the President’s economic policies, claiming that it only favors the rich, Trump strikes back by reminding voters that the Trump tax cuts made this economy prosperous and brought the unemployment rate to 3.2 %, the lowest rate in 50 years, and even brought the unemployment rate among African-Americans and Hispanics at its lowest rate ever. The President also praised the effects of the abolition of the War on Coal, including the acceleration of America’s path to energy independence. He also slammed his Democratic opponent on her big government record and positions, declaring that it would raise taxes on people and businesses, make America a harder place in the world to do business, start another war on the energy industry and increase the deficit through bigger government spending. The media pundits analyzed that Trump won the first debate : in fact 62 % of viewers said Trump won while 35 % said the same about Warren.

October 2nd, 2020 : While campaigning in Tacoma, Washington, President Trump became the subject of an assassination attempt. Fortunately, he was saved by his bodyguards and the shooter has been arrested. According to the investigation, the suspect is a radically anti-Trump and seeked to assassinate him in a context of radicalization of some Democrats who suggested either his impeachment or his assassination. As a result, President Trump’s approval ratings drastically increased between 52 % and 55 %. Political analysts describe these events as the October Surprise of the 2020 election.

October 4th, 2020 : Campaigning in Bridgeport, Connecticut, President Trump denounces the radicalization of the hard-core left-wing of the Democratic Party as well as their lack of bipartisanship, declaring that « unlike these extremists who want to put partisanship before the country, I’m putting America first and that’s why we got to a strong economy and a safer America in the last four years and will keep doing strong progress for America in the next four years. »

October 5th, 2020 : During a Trump rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, former Connecticut Democratic Senator and 2000 Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee Joe Lieberman announced his endorsement to the President, calling out the Democrats’ lack of bipartisanship.

October 7th, 2020 : Senator Marco Rubio and former Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema clashed during the vice-presidential debate held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The debate is focused on both economic, domestic and foreign policy issues and is moderated by Megyn Kelly. Both vice-presidential candidates were first asked about the recent failed assassination attempt against Trump, which gave Senator Rubio the opportunity to describe these events as a proof that this country needs bi-partisanship to move America forward, which is something he did as Senator (by advocating immigration reform, a double of the child tax credit, an increase of the sanctions against Hezbollah and the co-sponsored Let Freedom Reign Act) and which Trump did as President by bringing Republicans and Democrats together to build the wall, to denuclearize North Korea and to restore democracy in Venezuela. During the debate topic about economic issues, Kyrsten Sinema claims that the Trump tax cuts only favored the rich and that Elizabeth Warren will cut taxes for the middle class and for small businesses, which Senator Rubio responds that this has already been done under President Trump thanks to a double of the child tax credit and to an extension of the Trump tax cuts in 2019. He reminded his Democratic opponent that even Democrat JFK cut taxes, which delivered strong economic growth at that time and that 70 % of jobs are created in small businesses which is why President Trump cut taxes for small businesses to make America the best business-friendly environment in the world, « which I know from my experience as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship are the right policies to create jobs and prosperity unlike tax increases on businesses and hard-working Americans like Senator Warren seeks to do. » On foreign policy, Kyrsten Sinema denounced the use of military force against terrorism, which Senator Rubio described as another indication of the lack of foreign policy judgment from both Warren and Sinema, slamming his Democratic vice-presidential opponent on her anti-war record (as Sinema opposed combat operations against Al Qaida in Afghanistan even shortly after 9/11) on her comments that she had no problem with Americans defecting and on her ties with convicted terror lawyer Lynne Stewart who was convicted for aiding radical Islamic terrorist Omar Abdel-Rahman (who played a major role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing) in evading restrictions on his communications to his followers, even though those messages could have possibly ordered the death of Americans, « and yet, Congresswoman Sinema has said that Stewart was “emphatically not guilty”. » He also praised President Trump’s foreign policy accomplishments such as the elimination of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, the denuclearization of North Korea, the creation of the Space Force, the restoration of democracy in Venezuela and the Trump Administration’s efforts to denuclearize Iran and he also that more foreign policy progress can be done in the next four years thanks to the addition of the Senator’s foreign policy experience in the Trump Administration. All media agreed that Senator Rubio won the vice-presidential debate by large margin over Kyrsten Sinema. In fact, 57 % of voters that the Florida Senator won the debate while only 38 % said the same about the former Congresswoman.

October 10th, 2020 : President Trump and Senator Warren face each other again in their second presidential debate that is in town-hall format. The debate took place in St. Louis, Missouri and is moderated by Jake Tapper. President Trump wins the debate by labeling Senator Warren as a flip-flopper as she supported school choice before opposing it, supported a universal single-payer health care before opposing it, fought to stop the Army from shifting funds away from a Massachusetts-built communications network to pay for unanticipated costs associated with the War in Afghanistan before supporting deep cuts in defense spending throughout her career in the Senate.

October 13th, 2020 : Acting President of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref meets with President Trump to help discuss the increasing Democratization of the country and how the US can give aid to them. Trump willingly agrees and states that he hopes Senator Warren feels the same.

October 21st, 2020 : President Trump and Senator Warren clash in their third and  final presidential debate focused on foreign policy. The debate took place in Athens, Georgia and is moderated by Tom Brokaw. While Elizabeth Warren calls to a more diplomatic foreign policy and criticized the President’s « aggressive, bullying and incendiary diplomacy », Trump responded by reminding that it was because of the liberal foreign policy supported by Warren that cut defense spending, weakened the military and handed billions of dollars to Iran (the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism) that America was an easy target for radical Islamic terrorists in 2015-2016. Trump enlisted his foreign policy successes such as the denuclearization of North Korea, the creation of the U.S. Space Force, the diplomatic efforts to denuclearize Iran and the elimination of ISIS in Iraq and Syria and declared that thanks to the eradication of ISIS, peace is now restored in the region and that the U.S. and allied troops can soon come home. According to post-debate polls, 55 % of viewers thought Trump won while 40 % thought Warren won.

October 28th, 2020 : The Iranian Constitution is finally written and ratified by Acting President Aref. It states that a President can be elected with a Plurality or Majority and will have three 6 year terms as President, though a recall can happen is 67 % of the Nation’s Voting Age Population votes in a referendum for a possible recall and the pro-recall action has a majority. The Islamic Consultative Assembly is renamed into the People’s Congress of Iran, with 300 seats and a required majority of 151 seats. The leader of the party/coalition with the most seats will be the Nation’s Vice President. There will be a Parliamentary Election every 3 years. The new constitution takes most influence from the US Constitution in many ways, including freedom of press, speech, and soft restrictions on religion. President Trump applauds the new constitution and states that it’s the next step into a Democratic Iran.

November 1st-7th, 2020 : The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps attempts a coup to overthrow acting President Aref and replace him with a hardliner who will repeal his reforms. The Coup attempt fails and the IRGC is dissolved and replaced with the Iranian Democratic Shield Unit, which has the sole goal of protecting the newly established democracy no matter what. The leaders of the IRGC are tried and convicted of treason and are either sentenced to life imprisonment or exile.

November 3rd, 2020 : President Donald Trump is re-elected by a landslide over Senator Elizabeth Warren, winning 396 electoral votes and 44.5 % of the vote over Warren’s 142 electoral votes and 43.3 %. Meanwhile, Tulsi Gabbard takes 10.1 % of the vote, but did not win any state. In the senate elections, the Democrats gained 1 senate seat in Arizona, Colorado, and North Carolina, decreasing the Republican Majority of seats to 57 compared to the Democrats’ 43. The Republicans gain 8 seats in the House and pick up Montana and Washington State with their gubernatorial candidates, Tim Fox and Phil Bryant respectfully, while Jason Kander picks up Missouri for the Democrats as well as David Zuckerman in Vermont, Joe Manchin in West Virginia, and Steve Marchand in New Hampshire, bringing the total governors to 32 Republicans and 18 Democrats.

September 27, 2022 : According to the 2022 midterm polls, the terrorist attack in San Francisco caused a rally around the flag mood and boosted the Republicans in the polls as they argued that only a strong U.S. military and strong national security measures can keep America safe. They also campaigned on the strong U.S. economy and on Trump’s foreign policy successes.

October 19, 2022 : The Rally Around the Flag effect fades away but it still allows for several Republicans to have a chance in the six year itch, though many are expected to lose.

November 8, 2022 : The 2022 Midterm Elections and the Democrats are able to pick up North Carolina with their candidate Anthony Foxx, Pennsylvania with Connor Lamb, and Wisconsin with Tom Barrett, giving them a gain of 3 seats in the Senate, bringing the number to 52 Republicans and 48 Democrats. Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington sees New Freshman from the party that the seat. The New republicans are Martha Roby of Alabama, David S. Wilson of Alaska, Leslie Rutledge of Arkansas, P.K. Martin IV of Georgia, Lori Den Hartog of Idaho, Pat Grassley of Iowa, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Andrew Koenig of Missouri, and Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota. The Democrats see Kerry Donovan of Colorado, James Manning Jr. of Oregon, TIm Ashe of Vermont, and Mona Das of Washington. The West Virginia Special Senate Election to replace Governor Joe Manchin sees Patricia Rucker win.

For Governors Democrats gained Arizona, Maryland, and Ohio with Ruben Gallego of Arizona, Barnard Young of Maryland, and Wade Kapszukiewicz while the Republicans gain Kansas with Kevin Yoder of Kansas. Independents gain one seat in Michigan with Justin Amash. This makes the NGA 32 Republicans, 17 Democrats, and 1 Independent. Of the Term Limited/Retired holds, which are Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and South Carolina. The Republican holds are Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas, George Logan of Connecticut, Mike Hilgers of Nebraska, and Eric Bolling of South Carolina. The Democratic holds are Josh Green of Hawaii, Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, and Ryan W. Pearson of Rhode Island.

The House sees the Democrats gain 16 Seats, bringing it to 220 Republicans to 215 Democrats.

December 2, 2022 : President Trump addresses the nation from the White House and officially announces that the United States will fight Boko Haram in West Africa through military force through airstrikes against Boko Haram and by providing military training to the local armed forces.

May 7th, 2023 : Thapar is sworn in to replace Justice Alito, becoming the first new associate justice on the Lee Court.

June 2nd-20th, 2023 : The hearings for Hanks takes place. Things go by relatively normally until on June 4th when there are 4 sexual assault allegations against Judge Hanks. The Senate allows the accusers to testify to the Senate floor, though all four are debatable in whether they can be true or false. Many Republicans draw similarities between this and Brett Kavanaugh, who offers his support to Hanks. Deeper investigation proves, however, that 3 of the accusers are most definitely false, leading many to question the remaining Accuser, Kiara Alford, a student at Louisiana State University from 1984-1988, who claims that Hanks touched her inappropriately and kissed her on the cheek without her consent on March 14th, 1985. Hanks states he never did so and many of his fellow students agree that they never saw him and Alford even talk to each other, much less do what the Judge was accused of. On June 23rd, Hanks is approved in a 51-49 vote (The Sole Republican to vote against Hanks was Mitt Romney of Utah, who is retiring in 2024). Trump blasts Romney who voted against Hanks as a Traitor to the Party on Twitter and his approval ratings amongst Republicans drop between 19-33% while his approval amongst Democrats increases by 7-10%. His support amongst Independents remains stagnant.

June 24th, 2023 :  George C. Hanks is sworn in to replace Justice Thomas, becoming the second new associate justice on the Lee Court. During his swearing in Ceremony, Hanks pledges to “Always vote in the Conservative sense.” Stating that “Democrats tried to ruin my life, so it’s only fair I make theirs a living hell.” His comments are rallied against by the Democrats and Media outlets like CNN and MSNBC while Fox News and Republicans state they will support Hanks with whatever he votes on. FAQs

Will this be biased towards Republicans? No. Otherwise, I would have Republicans winning over 300 hundred house seats and over 60 Senate Seats. There will be no Bias in this game for anyone, even if you are or aren't a friend of mine. I will treat you all the same (Though if you annoy me everyday, I may lower your standing in the game by 1 or 2 points to reflect that you need to stop.

What is Trump's current Approval? Currently, it's 46 % Disapprove, 43 % Approve, and 11 % Unsure/No Opinion

When does this game start? August, 2023

Is there a list for Governors, Senators, and Representatives? Yes, yes there is. I'm still working on the Representatives list, but here is the Governors and Senators list : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oWn4ZnP7hf_w4YLQPAzpG3qq8BJjZ_bFfUxVITB0WkQ/edit

What is the current generic ballot? 45 % Generic Democrat, 40 % Generic Republican, 15 % Undecided/Other

How long has this been worked on? Since last year.

Can you moderate two games at once? I'm moderating a game that's flying by right now, so yeah, I think I can.

What are the rules? Pretty much the same as the other game, with turns lasting a week and you getting four endorsements if you're double digits.

Can anyone be in the running? Sure, even fictional people, though you'd have to message me to make sure of that.

Primary Schedule? Undetermined as of rn. WIll work on that in a little while.

Why Rubio for VP? I'm not a fan of Pence and while I somewhat dislike Rubio, he'd be a better choice since Cruz and Paul, my two favorites, likely wouldn't accept the job. UWS also helped me with the ideas for some of the naming of the bills and such, so I feel like I owed him at least that.

Is this game meant to be Realistic/taken seriously? No. It's purely a hypothetical. A very unrealistic hypothetical. Takes what happened in the timeline with a grain of salt realistically speaking. This is to create a scenario that is for fun and nothing else. Complaining about the TL's realisticivity (is that a word?) is noted but ignored because, again, realistic this game is not.

feel free to DM me a question if it's deemed necessary. I'll be happy to get to them ASAP.

btw, I think the 2024 Republican Convention might have to be held a little earlier in July as the 2024 summer Olympics in Paris start on July 26 2024 in order to make sure that people will get enough attention at the Convention and then to the Olympics.

Marco Rubio’s campaign announcement speech

Location : University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida

Date : June 26, 2023

Source : https://www.news-press.com/story/news/politics/2015/04/13/sen-marco-rubio-announces-presidential-plans-miami-gop-republican/25700237/

Hello, my fellow Americans!

I want to thank the University of South Florida for your wonderful hospitality and for being the site of one of my most important decisions for our country’s future.

For all my life, I have been blessed by the greatest nation in mankind’s history which is the United States of America, where my parents came to from Cuba, 67 years ago, in search of better economic opportunities after my father had to leave school to go to work when he was 9 and when his mother died and after my mother was one of 7 girls raised by a disabled father who struggled to provide for his family. Though my parents were not speaking English at that time, had no access to education and were living paycheck to paycheck, the hardworking of a bartender and a housekeeper allowed them to be successful and to make their children's lives better than theirs, to give them access to higher education and to give them all the opportunities they couldn't have earned themselves. Like every generation in American history, we owe a debt to this country, which is to make sure that our children will earn better opportunities than the previous generation as well as an America better off. So it is in order to pursue this fight for the American Dream that I decided to serve in public service.

I first served as county commissioner, then in the Florida House of Representatives, including as Speaker of the State House and then in the U.S. Senate where I got a record of achievement, notably the AGREE Act, the Regulation Costs to Small Businesses Act, my 2014 VA reform bill, these great sanctions on Hezbollah, my fight to double the Child Tax Credit from $1000 to $2000 in order to allow the economic prosperity our country is now living thanks to tax reform and free enterprise as well the Let Freedom Reign Act to provide military arsenal and training to the Venezuelan insurgency during the Venezuelan Civil War, which contributed to the success of Venezuela’s transition towards democracy after 2 decades of socialist dictatorship and oppression imposed by the Chavez/Maduro regime. All these legislations of mine reached bi-partisan support and brought both parties together to pass these bills into law to get things done for the sake of America’s progress and strength. An important part of my time in the Senate was marked by times of economic sluggish due to the previous administration’s big government and higher taxes that killed jobs, made us dependent on foreign oil, gave us the slowest economic growth in history and were leading us to a recession. This time was also marked by a rise of insecurity due to a rise of radical Islamic terrorism caused by the previous administration’s lack of leadership, cuts in the military and withdrawal from the world stage, which allowed ISIS to conquer a large territory in Syria and Iraq, contributed to a huge number of terrorist attacks on us and our allies and allowed Russia and China to challenge us in terms of military power. But everything has changed when we elected Donald Trump to the Oval Office.

Since President Trump took office, America made strong progress thanks to the Trump tax cuts that encouraged economic growth by making America a place open for business, encouraging free enterprise and strengthening the American people’s purchasing power. We abolished the Obama Administration’s War on Coal and encouraged clean coal technologies, took bold actions to take advantage of our own sources of energy, including oil, coal, solar, nuclear, wind energies and we are now on the right track to America’s energy independence. Thanks to the nomination of conservative judges to the Supreme Court of the United States, we gave power back to the states, defended the American people’s right to self defense through the protection of our Second Amendment rights, protected the life of the unborn and kept America safe. Under President Trump, we secured our borders and brought illegal immigration under control. He also kept America safe by reinforcing our military through an increase of defense spending and a return of American leadership on the world stage. As a result, we defeated ISIS in Syria and Iraq, abolished Obama’s Iran nuclear deal that was handing billions of dollars to that time’s largest sponsor of terrorism in the world and we managed to get North Korea to the negotiating table, which led the world to North Korea’s denuclearization and to a reinforcement of peace and security in the Korean peninsula and in the Pacific.

When Mike Pence announced his intention to retire at the end of President Trump’s first term, the President asked me to help him to fix America because he trusted my judgement enough to be his Vice-President and it is with love for my country, with determination to move America forward and to make sure our children as well as future generations will inherit a better America, that I accepted to be his Vice-President and I made history as the first Hispanic to become Vice-President of the United States, demonstrating once again that America is a land where everything is possible for all Americans. And it is under my leadership as Vice-President that we completed the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, making a step closer to America’s energy independence, that we assisted to the start of the denuclearization of Iran thanks to the election of a democratic government there and friendly to the U.S., leading to a normalization of the relations between our 2 countries. At that same period of time, we created the U.S. Space Force as the 6th branch of the U.S. Army, which helped us to protect our satellites against Russian and Chinese anti-satellite weaponry, to defend our country and our allies against any hostile hypersonic missile attack and to guide our troops in counter-terrorism operations.

However, our country is still facing challenges. And facing these challenges successfully requires strong leadership. And yet, many are the Democrats who are so obsessed in destroying the progress we have made in the last 7 years by making false accusations against Judge George C. Hanks aimed at ruining his reputation and sink his Supreme Court nomination. This is the most unethical sham we have ever seen in Senate hearings. This is the most embarrassing scandal for the United States Senate since the McCarthy hearings and the Kavanaugh hearings. What the Democrats want to do is simply to destroy this man’s life, hold this seat open, and hope they win in 2024 and fulfill this seat with a liberal judge in order to get us to a liberal Supreme Court, to restrict the Second Amendment, add more power to the government over the people, award terrorists detained in Guantanamo with constitutional rights and close Guantanamo, which would allow terrorists to be on the run once again and to commit attacks on us and our allies. Investigation has already proved that 3 of the 4 accusers were definitely false and Hanks has already confirmed not to have sexually assaulted the remaining accuser Kiara Alford and his fellow students agreed that they never saw Hanks and Alford even talking to each other. This sham has proven that the Democrats have learned nothing from their 2018 fiasco on Kavanaugh’s nomination. We will not let this witch hunt bringing Judge Hanks down and we will keep fighting to defend the American people’s freedom and constitutional rights. Less than a year ago, we have faced a recession caused by a contraction in economics, but we managed to counter it thanks to an effort by the Congress to pass a legislation to audit  the Federal Reserve to ensure the Fed’s transparency. And a recession is absolutely the worst time to raise taxes like our political opponents are seeking to do. And last year, we saw a rise of Boko Haram in Nigeria due to its radicalization efforts and the exploitation of oil resources from captured oil refineries, which allowed this radical Islamic terrorist organization to do strong progress in Nigeria. And it is in this context that they executed a terrorist attack in San Francisco where they killed 42 people through a suicide car bomb attack on a tramway and a shooting that was stopped thanks to the courage of local police officers who killed the jihadists implicated in this attack. After these tragic events, we made it absolutely clear that we will not back down and that we will defend America’s freedom, values and security against terrorism, barbarism and tyranny and that’s why both parties came together to grant President Trump the power to use military force to combat Boko Haram. And now we are fighting Boko Haram through airstrikes against these terrorists in West Africa and through a provision of military training to the local armed forces to help them defend their countries against terrorism. And Russia is representing a serious threat to world peace as they are disputing the territorial integrity of the Kuril Islands with Japan, as they violated the New START Treaty time after time through a reinforcement of their nuclear weaponry and as Vladimir Putin is attempting to stop the civilian protests in Russia through repression and unfair arrests. That’s why we need strong leadership to meet these challenges effectively.

You know, today is the 60th anniversary of President Kennedy’s Ich bin ein Berliner speech in which, in the context of the Cold War that saw a threat represented by communism towards freedom, democracy and free market, he declared « Freedom is indivisible, and when one man is enslaved, all are not free. All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin. » Today, I say all free people, wherever they may live, are citizens of the United States. And defending freedom requires encouraging opportunity for all the people, white, African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, all the people. Opportunity is one of our country’s greatest values and that’s why we need to work together for opportunity : opportunity to prosper, opportunity to succeed, opportunity to live free, opportunity to live safe. The moreover that recently, this summer, my older son Anthony has become a high school graduate. That’s why we have this obligation to make sure that our children, including my 4 children, as well as future generations will earn all the opportunities that previous generations couldn’t have for themselves and will be the most prosperous generation of Americans that ever lived and like my father used to tell me : « en este pais, ustedes van a poder lograr todas las cosas que nosostros no pudimos. » In this country, you will achieve all the things we never could. That’s how we’re going to defend America’s status as the land of opportunity where todo es posible. I have the right experience and background to do this and that’s why I’m here to announce that I am a candidate for President of the United States.

I know through my experience as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship that growing this economy and creating jobs requires lower taxes for all Americans and all businesses across this country, making America the best place in the world to do business, taking advantage of all of our sources of energy and encouraging trade. That is exactly what I will do as President of the United States in order to get our country to full-employment. And in order to counter China’s trade power and to make America the most competitive nation in the world economy, I will promote free trade, so we can trade with the remaining 95 % of the world market as we are representing 5 % of the international market and I will do so while reducing our corporate tax rate to 15 % as well as taxes and regulations on businesses, including manufacturing businesses, in order to make it easy for them to do business in America, so we can keep American jobs here in the United States while encouraging free trade at the same time. Now that our borders are secured (with the completion of Trump's wall), I believe that time has come for us to reform our immigration system in order to make our society more inclusive and to allow immigrants coming to this country to earn the opportunity to have access to U.S. citizenship, to have access to higher education, to find good-paying jobs and to raise their families here on the land of opportunity. And I know through my foreign policy experience (as I served 10 years in the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations) that America’s security as well as peace requires strong American leadership, strong U.S. military, strong alliances and strong diplomacy. That’s why I will work hard to keep our military strong and modernize it and that way we will chase down and defeat terrorists wherever they are, keep our military power advantage against any geopolitical foe, defend territorial integrity around the world. And to make sure we will get the world to permanent nuclear security, I will work with our allies to ratify the Fissile Material Cut-Off Treaty.

I can’t accomplish these goals without your help and that’s why I hope you will follow me in this long journey for America’s future and I’m asking for your vote, because if you do I will fight for you every single day of my presidency to make sure America will reach permanent economic prosperity, permanent security and peace and permanent freedom.

Thank you! God bless you and God bless the United States of America.

Also, Lieberman endorsed Clinton in 2016 and instead of him, you could have Dennis Kucinich.
