I hope Kennedy wins just so the Markey stans will quit being insufferable.

Your mouth to gods ears but I’ve talked to the campaign and the numbers looked good but not enough. It’s can be anywhere from Markey +3-+9

It's still a pretty stupid thing to say that you hope a candidate loses just because some (not all) of their followers have been insufferable. Not to mention disingenuous about the way Kennedy's supporters have acted.

Kennedy is leading in Worcester's initial returns, per DDHQ.

(That isn't my actual rationale.) Although Markey stanning is just weird. I can't imagine a politician with less gravitas.

Is there a results thread? Markey appears to have won Windsor (one of the smallest towns in Massachusetts) and Gosnold (the smallest town in Massachusetts). I would have expected Kennedy to win Gosnold, but it's so small that it doesn't really mean much.

Is Markey expected to do better in Boston and Kennedy in south Mass? What's the geographic dynamic of the race?

2 precincts on NYT in both Lawrence, and Springfield. Kennedy 130/79 Lawrence, 725/593 Kennedy in Springfield. Not sure if EV or actual precincts.

DDHQ has Ipswich - 722/341 Markey.

Kennedy wins Boston, Metrowest, and the South Coast. Markey wins Middlesex, Essex, and Western MA.

Neither DDHQ nor the NYT are tracking write-in votes for Vermin Supreme in the MA-SEN Libertarian primary.  Cry

What to look for:

North of Boston: HEAVY Markey
South: HEAVY Kennedy
WMA: Should be Markey

Lowell, Lawrence should be heavy Markey
Worcester moderate Kennedy
Boston is a tossup

shrugs. The only expected things appear to be Markey doing well in the suburbs and towns North/Northeast of Boston and the rural west, and Kennedy doing well in the towns and suburbs to the south of Boston, Metrowest, and the retiree areas in the Berkshires. Big cities like Boston, Worcester, and the middle of the state along with other unique areas are unknowns.

Curious to see how the Portuguese communities in Bristol county vote.
