Opinion of people who argue that "Democrats are the real racists"?

What is your opinion of people who argue that "Democrats founded the KKK and Jim Crow, liberals are the same racist segregationists as Southern Democrats in the past, Republicans are the Party of Lincoln and Reagan and Bush and Trump that has always fought racism!". I think that anyone who makes this retarded, pathetic and childish "no, you!" argument should lose all their credibility and never be taken seriously. This is why the alt-right deserves infinitely more respect than boomer conservatives, because they actually stand on their principles and don't condition their beliefs to their enemies' morality. Boomer conservatives probably agree with the alt right deep down but they are in deep denial and it's disgusting.

I mean, something happened though I could buy the idea that that Lincoln was never remembered for what the Republican Party was really about or that the Republican Party became more about being a right-wing catch all party as a result of a greater focus on economics caused by the challenges that occurred in the 1870s. Or simply became the party of wealthy and eventually attracted more and more constituents that were adversely affected by change in one way or another. This probably happened as Democrats never really changed their central theme of protecting its voters from the powerful. In the beginning, the government was the leviathan but after the industrial revolution, it was big business. This still really doesn't do the best job explaining how identity politics began to be effectively deployed.
