Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear, D-Ky., son of a political dynasty is leaving his seat to run for Ky. governor against Gov. Bevin.

Daniel Cameron, a black Kentucky Republican, a former McConnell staff lawyer, is running against former KY AG Greg Stumbo, running for his old job again.

Stumbo is experienced.

Stumbo was a Kentucky House legislator from 1980-2004, 2009-2017. KY AG from 2004 to 2008.

Who wins? Experienced white Southern Democrat or rising black Republican "token" star?

I say:
Greg Stumbo (Democrat) 51%
Daniel Cameron (Republican) 49%

The Kentucky Attorney General's office stays in Democratic rule.

Does rural Kentucky vote for a black man?

considering that 80%+ of R voters won't know Cameron is black, they'll vote for him because he has an R next to his name.

I say likely R. Bredesen showed us last year how good "experienced white southern democrats" perform these days, though there is an outside chance, but Gov is gonna be a closer race.

This is probably safe for Cameron, but I think there’s a huge range of possibilities as to the margin.

If Cameron wins he’ll be a front runner for McConnell’s seat in 2026.

Cameron will be seen as a token, he is seen as one already.

I predict that the Democrats will do surprisingly well in Kentucky in 2019.

I predict Bevin will lose.
