Other people just trying to get about their life, help their friends and family, are not my enemy and to think they are is dangerous.

I don't have this sort of charity for most politicians however. I think that's an important distinction to make.

I don't live in the US, but I definitely do not see political opposition as the enemy. I have political differences with many irl friends (to my left and to my right) but we put it aside because there is more to life than bickering about ScoMo vs. Albo or Orange Man.
