Myself and others that predicted he would nominate Menendez for the seat, because the NJ party instructs him to do so.

politics1.com cited an article quoting Rep. Pascrell, who said he thinks Menendez is the heavy favorite against Andrews and Pallone.

Of course, I welcome a Menendez nomination, as Kean, Jr. would relieve him of his duties in roughly a year's time.

I was expecting a Codey nomination, but how that he doesn't want the seat, I wouldn't be surprised with Menendez.

I have been saying Menendez since the spring. For some reason, people thought Corzine wouldn't appoint a stooge. Y'all were wrong.

It's not official but like others and myself have said before, it's going to happen.

I think there's a good chance Corzine will appoint this unknown guy, I'm not sure if you've heard about him but his name is Golan Cipel. I hear he's really qualified in Homeland Security.

I think Corzine will appoint a minority-namely Bob Menendez or Nia Gill.

Oh, you'll pay for that Tongue

On another note, Governor Codey infiltrated a mental hospital recently. He spent a night there as a patient or something to see if the conditions were humane. He said the food was "the worst meal I've ever had" but he was treated okay. I take it this was only on the local news.

Codey is a really awesome guy. Its a shame he didn't stay Governor and Corzine stayed in the Senate, Codey would've beat Forrester so bad this year.

Looks like I might be wrong, if Gill or whatever gets it.

You could still be right. Everything is still just speculation right now.

He should name a successor today or sometime next week.

I don't think he is a US citizen.  Maybe Corzine will appoint McGreevey, and Cipel could serve as an advisor of some sort.

If Corzine appoints Menendez, what little faith I had in him will be forever lost.

Ha.  Good times at expense of Jim McGreevey.

politics1 is saying Menendez remains the likely pick... maybe the Gill et al. stuff is a nugget for Democratic interests but not a serious possibility.

Should Menendez be picked, Democratic hopes of taking the Senate or even gaining significant ground would be decimated.

After your prediction on the Virginia Gubernatorial Race I don't know if I should believe you.

Kaine is totally doneski IMO. Death penalty, taxes, illegal immigration... no way someone to the extreme left on all three is going to win in VA.
