Basically, RG Peebs has complained in the past about tiny parties with 3-4 members that just refuse to die and make her life harder. This increases the number of members required to 5 to try and reduce the number of micro-parties

This used to be how things were done for years. Only recently was it moved to 3 from 5, where it had been for eons.

I am strongly opposed to increasing the number of members required for an organized party. You should not make it harder for small parties to be visible to give them a chance to grow. Or only because a few people should have a party they believe in, and respecting political divversity.

Not sure if it's the formating in the census that is causing problems (too many columns). If it's that maybe it would be acceptable to list the smallest parties below the table, just one line by party. Like
SOS party 2-0-1
XYZ party 0-0-3 (numbers are members for the three regions).

Or even if it respects the requirements, just for the smallest parties list only the number of members below the table so the public knows they exist.

SOS party 3
XYZ party 3

The problem we have is mammoth parties, it's not the tiny parties so maybe try to find ways to accomodate the RG without changing a longstanding rule of our democracy.

I'd support this bill if it was changed to 4 instead of 5. If it passes I'll introduce an amendment in the house to change it to that.

I am not here to support anything that would harm the ability of third parties to exist. On the contrary for instance I have long defended the right of single member parties to exist and for people to retain the registration of their choice and not have it be altered by the latest simple majority swayed by discord minions.

As for the idea of a separate list, there used to be such back in the day, though I would note note that prior to Adam, Google Docs were never used to my knowledge and it was displayed using the chart format on the Atlas itself. Some RG's did maintain lists breaking down by small and single member parties.

Given the current size of the electorate, I think that 5 is a reasonable benchmark for a party being officially recognized. My thoughts on this are clear: I support raising the bar to 5 voters. Our Registrar has been adversely affected by an outbreak of minor joke parties and that has to be remedied.

We could always tie it the amount of register voters. Like it has be 2% of the current Registered voters

I object.

That would actually raise the number to 6 people unless Atlasia's population dropped below 250. It is an interesting proposal but given how the amount of active players generally stays constant even when the census does not I do not support it

2% is a bit of a strange threshold, but I'm open to adopting this amendment. Senator Vern, why 2%?

I didn’t want to make it too high but 1% was too low. I really like it tied to a percentage because the number of members will always be Reasonable no matter what the population is

This bill is deeply troubling stuff, I urge people to vote it down!
Care to explain why? Or is it just because you don’t like Peebs presumably because you don’t like Leinad and Leinad likes Peebs?

Not at all lol, I like the ability for a group of three to be an official party, that’s it really.
Three people is rather arbitrary. With the population of this game increasing by so much, there needs to be a higher limit for official party recognition. Our Registrar is overworked as it is.
