Essentially this game takes place during the 2000 presidential election. And the only real differences between this game's timeline and real life are certain events lead to Democratic popularity dropping. Here are the following differences: Recession that originally hits in 2001-2002, happens in 1998; Bomb detonates in Empire State Building, approximately 350 people die, 2,500 injuries; issues this election include Clinton popularity/morality, health care, global warming/climate change, economy.

Al Gore is slightly more popular than Bill Clinton at this point, but overall they are more unpopular now than any other time in office. Also, quick note: You can play as the real life nominees (Bush and Gore) but it's preferred that you don't.

Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT): I know I shouldn't say this and it probably isn't the best political move but I'm running for president of the United States. We need a strong Christian conservative with strong experience on the national stage. It is the exact opposite of the Bill Clinton administration. So yes, I'm running for president and will have a kick-off rally in Utah in around a week.

Jake Tapper: Jake Tapper, what is your message to the voters of the country? What is your main talking points?

Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT): Without Pat Buchanan or Gary Bauer or George W. Bush running, I don't see the race having any strong Christian conservative in the race. That is a huge amount of support in the primary unclaimed and I feel we need one of those Christian conservatives in the White House after the playboy. In short, my main message is I'm a strong conservative, I'm a strong Christian and I will restore the moral character to the White House.

Bernard Shaw: I'm Bernard Shaw from CNN...

Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT): What a privilege, I don't think I have ever seen you outside the studio.

Bernard Shaw: Big day for you, get to announce and bid for the White House and see me outside the studio. My question is what is your strategy in the primary?

Sal Russo, Campaign Consultant: I'll take care of that question. the Senator is a strong conservative which I feel will resonate in Iowa but our main goal is winning Nevada after a strong finish in Iowa. Nevada's caucuses are strongly Mormon and strongly conservative. After Nevada, I know Orrin will have a strong win in Utah. Also on Super Tuesday, he is hoping for victories in Colorado and Oklahoma and he will run a strong campaign in all state especially California...
