The term “jungle primary” is just asking to be canceled.

Abrams apparently forcefully called on Lieberman and Tarver to drop out yesterday, something I missed.

Both are still refusing.

I honestly think Lieberman may have a problem with Warnock being a reverend. Some Dems are annoyingly secular and this is coming from a very secular person.

Tarver is just a has been who will likely get under 3% of the vote.

At this point (knock on wood) I think it's kind of a moot point. The DSCC clearly woke up and started calling in favors and twisting elbows, and that should be enough to get Warnock into the top 2. The only way I see Lieberman substantially harming things is if conditions are really good in November and Warnock could have cleared 50% absent him and Tarver, but I feel like that's somewhat unlikely at this stage.

Side note, it's remarkable how hated Joe Lieberman is. Normally #resistance libs annoyingly stan for centrists who won't just toe the line, but I genuinely think Lieberman might be hated even more by the center than by the progressive wing.

Back when Ned Lamont won the primary against him, all the centrists in the national party chose to stay out of it and not support a perfectly acceptable moderate Democratic nominee because they assumed Lieberman, if he won, would show some gratitude.  But nope.  He returned to the Senate and was even more a douche than he'd ever been.

I know like one family supporting Lieberman because Warnock is a reverend, I wonder if they've changed their minds.

Imagine being a Democrat and believing that trashing Obama will actually help you in a Democratic primary.

Also, there wasn't that many Bloomberg supporters in Atlas in the primary before Biden's fall in Iowa.

He's not even secular, I don't think, he was the head of Greenfield Hebrew Academy. I'm not sure if it was orthodox at the time, but the school it merged into, Atlanta Jewish Academy, is. Anyways, I'm pretty secular, and I think it would be incredible to see an agnostic or atheist senator from Georgia, but I care far more about the ideas of our senator than their religion, and I think there's a far smaller chance that Warnock turns out to be a massive douche in Congress than Lieberman, so that's good enough for me.

It's as if he (and they) forget about Article VI, Clause III, of the Constitution, which states that "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." Warnock being a reverend (and the pastor of MLK's church at that!) has no bearing on his political positions, or how he would conduct himself as a Senator. The Constitution forbids barring political candidates from running for, or holding public office on the basis of religious grounds, whether they are Mormon (such as Mitt Romney), an agnostic (such as Kyrsten Sinema), a Muslim (such as Illhan Omar), or an evangelical Christian (such as Mike Pence).

Lieberman was really like “Georgia is the second Blackest state in America so let me *check notes* disrespectfully refer to the first Black President as “44” and say that Georgia’s first Black Senator will be “owned” by powerful groups if elected.”

Yep, the Obama endorsement will do it (to be fair, it was already "done" as far as being the first-place D).

And this is why you don't let candidates have access to their social media campaign accounts, y'all!

This is a bigger meltdown than Kennedy's when the Boston Globe went for Markey.

I regret to inform you all that Kelly Lofeller has, for a third time, compared herself favorably to Attila the Hun
