I mean, democrats are going to rally around Warnock. A r vs r run off isn't going to happen.

On March 20 I contacted Loeffler's office via their web contact page (since their phones were tied up), urging her to resign.

Today I got an email response.  It begins:

"Dear Mr. ______,

Thank you for contacting me about the impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump. It is an honor to serve as Senator for the people of Georgia, and I appreciate the opportunity to hear from you on this important issue."

Words fail me.

So today I got another email from Loeffler's office claiming to be a response (its subject is "Responding to your message").  This one is an apparent form letter talking about how great her response has been to the virus.  There's no mention of her stock trades or my strongly-worded request for her resignation.  The tone-deafness is appalling.

What are the chances that Doug Collins doesn’t make it to the runoff? That would be funny if he placed third in the jungle primary.

Negligible.  He's likely to finish first and end up in a runoff with Warnock.

Is Warnock still a decent recruit or did the car scandal ruin him?

I don't think it's gotten much traction.

Why did the state rep that endorsed Trump do so well in the runoff in 2008 against Jim Martin, would he have done better against Saxby in 2008 had he been the nominee?

I think I saw that he raised $1.6 million, which was alittle less than Collins ($2m) and more than Loeffler ($1.1 mil) so I think once him and Ossoff win their primary, he'll stand more of a chance. The car scandal seems to have evaporated

The NRSC is just a bunch of overpaid gop consultants having no clue at all.

If anyone knows how to piss away winnable Senate races in red states, it’s the inept morons in charge of the NRSC. You guys should appreciate their efforts, they’re doing a far better job than the DSCC. Tongue

The crazy thing is that this is absolutely a minuscule percentage of her net worth. To use round numbers, let’s say she’s worth $500m and sold $4m worth of stock. That’s .08% and not even accounting for the fact that her husband is also worth somewhere in the $500m ballpark.  $4m sounds like a lot to us plebes but when you’re worth this much, it’s a rounding error. She’s gonna lose a senate seat for something she did three weeks in and is looking at prison time over a f**king rounding error.

Edit: She sold $19m so it’s .38% but my larger point still stands.

(puts on math pedant hat)

Check your decimal places.   Smiley $19m is 3.8% of $500m (and $4m is 0.8%).

Yeah you're right, I wrote it out wrong

More to the point, to answer your question why someone worth that much money would risk their career over something relatively small compared to their enormous Fortune, the short answer is that people like loffler literally can't help themselves.

In an Axios story about the Trump/Kemp beef, someone who works for Collins says according to their polls, he’s up by about 2x on her.

I don't think it's gotten much traction.

Seems his estranged wife was lying about it. Police report said there was no sign of injury, which is inconsistent with literally being run over by a car.

I think Tomlinson will be the Dem nominee for the US Senate, then lose to Perdue.

AJC got their hands on an internal poll that has Loeffler and Warnock tied at 11 with Collins at 29.

And Lieberman at 12!

Would Lieberman or Warnock be stronger in a runoff?

Lieberman has no chance in a runoff. Warnock would probably lose to but given his strong reputation in the black community, I think we would get higher turnout with him.

If Lieberman is the Dem in the runoff, that would be a nightmare for the DSCC.

I was outside talking on the phone with my mom, around 8:30 in the morning, and this girl straight up ran over her partner with a car. He was down on the ground for like 30 minutes before getting up, but he was driving that car an hour or so later.

From Politico, you can't make this up:

Quote
Loeffler is kicking off a massive ad campaign that promotes her response to the coronavirus pandemic...The ad also leans into her personal wealth, highlighting the fact she gave $1 million to a local hospital and that she flew Georgians home on her private plane.

Extremely relatable.

Ahh yes, I just love flying people around on my private jet.

I highly doubt this will be a lockout. Loeffler is gonna get like 10% of the vote.
