I don’t think he cares. He probably has contempt or at least looks down on most of its people. He probably really likes that there is a United States, though.

I don't believe he has contempt for the country. He clearly has contempt for many of his fellow countrymen, in addition to many of the laws that he must abide by, but not necessarily for the country itself.

That's not to say that he loves the country, though. He doesn't. The only thing that Donald Trump loves is Donald Trump.

Not to him because he conflates the United States with himself, and there is nothing he loves more than himself.

But for me, who isn't buying into Trump's typical reality-bending delusions, yes he absolutely does. His entire 2016 campaign was based on it and his administration is failing to reflect the country's interests and values.
