On the Issues:

Economic Policy:
Taxation: I pledge to vote against any increase in taxation. Simplify the tax code and make it more fair to those less fortunate. Close all loopholes and reduce the tax burden on capital.

Spending: Balanced Budgets and surpluses should be encouraged. If the average Atlasian has to balance his/her budget, so should the federal government.

Corporations: I am pro-free enterprise. I am not pro-business. The government has no role in helping some businesses at the expense of others.

Social Policy:
Abortion: Pro-Life except for in cases of the woman's life being at risk.

Education: Let each regional government decide what is best for the people there.

Climate Change: Allow companies to invest in alternative resources to move towards a greener society. Eliminate all subsidies or special privileges businesses get that can hurt the environment.

Drug Policy: Push towards decriminalization of hard illegal drugs and legalization of some drugs. Make the penalties fair. Jail or prison is not the solution. End the war on drugs and let human beings dictate their own lives.

Privacy: Government should not be watching you unless there is an explicit warrant from a judge outlining a search or wiretap.

Foreign Policy:

Trade: Encourage cooperation and association through trade. Reductions in tariffs spurs growth for everyone.

War: Only go to war if declared, through the consent of the people, and only when our national security is threatened. War should only be a last resort when all attempts at diplomacy are exhausted and have failed.

I will be hosting a townhall next week so my constituents can ask me questions and get to know me. Stay tuned. I hope you all join me. There will be barbecue, beer, wings, and salad!

I am saddened to inform the southern region that I will no longer be running for Southern Chamber of Delegates. I believe I will better represent my constituents by running for the senate special election in the south. Besides that, nothing has changed except that I will bring more food!

Voting will be next week. I also updated my office to include where I stand on the issues. The townhall will still be tomorrow for anyone interested in getting to know me better.

There are a lot of fun bills pending in both the House and Senate queues. Have you read any of them and if so, are there any you like or dont like?

Not a Southerner, but do you have any critiques of Vern's performance in the Senate*?

*Especially given you recently voted for him to be VP and have another term in the Senate.

In the House, I dislike the ban mcdonalds act. While McDonalds may potentially increase obesity, it is also a valuable fast-food restaurant that allows those less fortunate to afford quick and accessible food.

Vern has been a great senator. What would you do differently than him and what would be your priorities if elected?

I think Senator Vern is a cordial man and at the time, I believed he was the best candidate to represent the South along with Senator Yankee. His switch to the Peace Party was unfortunate and that party is more aligned with his beliefs. The one thing I disagree, regardless of party affiliation, is avoiding debates on bills. Senator Vern did this twice. As elected officials, it is always our duty to have sensible debates.
