This one is difficult- you have to be as partisan as possible, only selecting members of the same party, Democrat or Republican (unless your independent, then you chose people of any party who have a close ideology to you)

I've not done a British party system as I don't want right wing republicans proclaiming themselves Labour supporters just because Blair is leader. That is just too wierd! So i've stuck with Dem and Rep

In case anyone is interested in who the current incumbents are: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/uk_politics/03/the_cabinet/html/default.stm

Personally I think that the only unimportant posts (in terms of administration that is; a vote at the cabinet table is still a vote...) are Minister Without Portfolio (this post usually goes to the Party Chairman), Chief Secretary to the Treasury and the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (another "without portfolio" job).

I agree, but I didn't want to over complicate things, resulting in me being dropped into the Secretarry of State for Scotland simply becasue I'm Scottish for example.

Prime Minister: Emsworth
Chancellor of the Exchequer: Bono
Foreign Secretary: John F. Kennedy
Home Secretary: John Dibble
Defence Secretary: John Ford
Lord Chancellor: A18

All other Cabinet positions would be abolished. (Historic offices would be retained as purely ceremonial positions, e.g., Lord President and Lord Privy Seal).

Just to point out that the Deputy P.M right now handles stuff like planning, economic development and so on.
This is because John Prescott isn't someone you say "no" to...

You're in favour of abolishing public education now? I don't suppose we needed roads either.

Public education should be left in the hands of local authorities, as should roads.

Yes, because the motorways should just stop at the end of each local authority.

But I'd be a Liberal Dem in the UK, which means I'd have 0% chance to ever form a government. Technically I could have a red and blue cabinet (More red guys from this board.) to build my orange/yellow government. My apologies for not selecting any D/L/I-XX's. I'm actually being partisan.

Prime Minister: Me of course. (I'm not the damn Queen)
Deputy Prime Minister: Waltermitty
Chancellor: Dazzleman
Foreign Secretary: True Independent
Home Secretary: Angus (technically an R)
Defence: ColinWixted
Education: htmldon (I hope he's still big on empowerment)
Health: Mr. Hobbes
Lord Chancellor: Emsworth
Culture, Media and Sport: Statesrights (provided he doesn't continue to wax poetic about the ACC)
Environment, Food and Rural Affairs: John Ford
International Development: JJ
Trade and Industry: Keystone Phil
Transport: Supersoulty
Lord Privy Seal: Tredick

Lets see, 3 PA guys (not including me), a bunch of centrist Rs, and some of the more extreme guys...pretty balanced.

Yes, because the motorways should just stop at the end of each local authority.
No doubt, each local authority could control whatever part of the road lies within its boundaries. Perhaps there could be some sort of central co-ordination agency, but a whole Cabinet Department strikes me as unnecessary.

I've always wanted to be Lord President of the Council.  A nice ceremonial/administrative job (and I can wear ermine).

When I'm gallivanting in Malta, you become the Acting PM Smiley

Generally, the DPM also has a semi-minor ministry; for John Anderson it was Transport and Roads. I was going to give you Arts and Sports, but I had nobody for tourism, so... Smiley

The current DPM, Mark Vaile, actually has a reasonably important ministry; he was Trade minister before becoming National Party leader (and DPM), and he kept that portfolio when he became DPM.

Health and Defence in addition to the usual Education posts.  Thanks.

Oh, and how can I forget Lord Privy Seal.  Would that come with the post as head of the House of Lords?
