The election is not until January but I officially announce my intentions to run for Governor of the Mideast Region (as long as Wisconsin remains in that Region) I am doing so now, as I will be busy come December. I will run as an Independent on a centrist platform. This is my first run for office so I think I needed the time to prepare Smiley

Thank you citizens.

That's cool. Thank you to you both. I'm going to work on a platform in the next few weeks. It's essay time at university for me, then Christmas, then exam time- so by the time the campaign comes along i'll have to be up to speed Smiley

This is an example of a good and responsible candidate.  He only had a minor role in the revolt, he wasn't a ringleader like Mr. Asexual.

I am exploring options to campaign on the introduction of optional three week Paternity Leave or a generalised 'leave' that can be taken by either partner however they see fit. The cost would be shared between the public purse and the employer.

I honestly doubt we have statutory maternity leave actually, this is based on the US after all.

That is true. It probably helps in that case as we have no precedent so a  fair system for both parents can be implimented. It's worth a look.

I really don't think this would be a good idea.

If it can be costed then i'll propose it. If it is too much, or the legislature would be bogged down with the bill then naturally I would withdraw the idea before I set out my platform.
